Value for money office morning tea

Hiya,

I need to organise an office morning tea next month. There's a good/consistent/well priced bakery nearby (Golden Bakery, in Perth CBD), with nice sausage rolls and pies etc, but people have ordered the same thing every month for about 3 years straight… basically because it's pretty good.

I had a look at Woolies click and collect, and we can get a heap more stuff for the same price, but to be fair the frozen food leaves a lot to be desired… usually sacrificing quality for quantity…

Any ideas to help me think outside the box appreciated :)

  • Knowing office workers they are going to feel jipped if the sausage rolls, party pies etc, aren't of the same yumminess as the bakeries.

You could do cupcakes, cakes, mini quiches, croissants, pastries. Based on experience though people do love their party pies and sausy rolls.

  • +1

Ask the bakery well in advance if they can make some variations to add to the normal order of pies & sausage rolls such as suggested above by "sparkles". Try having both the pastry doo-dahs + sweet yummies & also fresh fruit with a side of yoghurt. That way you are covering every taste for everybody + providing a healthy alternative. It used to work for me when I did them for our office. Drawback is that you will be nominated for it all the time as they will all think you are wonderful!! ( Stay away from the frozen alternative - it won't be of the same standard) Good Luck

  • have a couple of highlights.. waffles/macaroons.nice cakes etc and fill up the rest with your usual pies and sausage rolls

  • Suddenly remembered a couple of other favourites - scotch eggs - which can be bought from coles or woollies ( don't forget to put out the brown sauce -H.P. or bbq -to go with them. Also, got a toaster available? If so, a loaf of raisin bread with lashings of butter to put on when ready. Must go now you're making me hungry!!

    • get a relish snd/or better dipping sauce for the sausage rolls. go for some of that gourmet sh!t.

i find coles 2 pack iced donuts to be awesome- very similar to krispy creme. their iced 6 packs are always fresh and I have never heard a negative comment abut them

  • coles/woolies for
    muffins, party pies etc

  • Here in Adelaide Lipton gave us a call a few weeks ago and asked us if we wanted some free samples. Our receptionist said yes and a week later we received a laundry basket full of flavoured teas.

    Give Lipton a call!

  • thanks!!!

ok, for what it's worth, we chose to go woolies order, only to find out that neither of the woolies CBD stores do click-and-collect, so we'd need to get it delivered, fine if we had a free delviery code, but none this week (that I can find!) :(

    note to self!
