"Move apps to SD (if supported by your device)"
Isn't the issue that most don't support moving apps to external memory?

Apart from that my phone does just about everything else.

I use another version, and the main benefit is having a nicer GUI (rather than having to go through each app's individual "app info" screen), and seeing at a glance which apps use the most space and out of those which ones can be moved.

So essentially it's a convenience app that doesn't unlock anything new (although this may not be true in older versions of Android)

  • Sadly doesn't seem to support Cynogenmod

If you have a rooted phone link2SD is a great option https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2…
You can move any app to the SD card even apps with widgets will still work ok with link2SD.

You need to create a second partition on the SD card more info here http://www.link2sd.info/description or search on the XDA forum.

  • Why are some apps not movable to the SD?

    • None of my apps movable! was hoping to see if i could move SFIV to SD card! no luck!

Because as of the SGS3, samsung (Etc) are idiots. They organise the device memory differently, so instead of device memory + "internal sd card" + "external sd card", they merged the first two. And that's what stuffs everything up.

If you have an older device this app will be fantastic for it.

Edit: I think it's the way the hardware manufacturers do it, not a software issue (ie: samsung etc are the ones to blame, not google)

Someone who understands properly will probably correct me.

      • I don't know specifically who is to blame, but Google themselves are the ones who first tried to stop people moving apps to an SD card - hence their ridiculous insistence on not even letting you use SD cards at all on their own-brand devices.

        • I do get their idea though, SD cards run much slower than internal memory.

  • so many negative reviews…. -_-
well at least it's free now to try if this actually works.

  • How do you convert it to pro version? Still has ad's and stuff when I downloaded it. Isnt there a code you need to put into the app itself?

Edit - you need to go to Settings within the app and go to Promotion Code. Then enter "appoftheday" to turn off the ad's.

Motorola XT885 says that : APP2sd is not totally support your device. . ;(:(:(

  • It's a shame this doesn't work on the Galaxy S3 unrooted.
