Xaiomi Mi2s 16GB Mobile on eBay - original or fake?

I have a bad gut feeling for you, but let us know how you fare.
I followed my nose a bit and see that your seller is running a number of auctions for Huawei Ascend P6 phones. Then notice that there is a veritable rash of identical listings by a number of sellers also with usernames ending in four numbers: 'zhenwanquan1012', 'taity8926' and a couple of others. Latter ones have no sales/no ratings. First one has similar number of sales to your seller, but just reading the first page of feedback I see a similar pattern and smell of dodge to your seller. Looks like a constructed set of ratings to me, likely based on sales of small items.
All usernames go back to the same seller, I suspect. It is common for sellers to arrange their affairs in such a way that they have more than one username in play but…
Best of luck to you in hoping that everything goes ok.
Don't be slow in launching a PayPal dispute if you need to.thanks tas, all i can do at the moment is wait and when i get my parcel i will know . any suggestion how to check if its real or fake. thanks
My understanding is that Chinese copies of international-model phones are that most are pretty hamfisted and obvious. As regards China-market brands, I don't really know how sophisticated the faking might have become.
Just clicking on 'About Phone' in the menu settings may give any game away, but certainly the second thing you should do is download (or sideload if you have to!) the 'Android Hardware Info' app from the Play store. It gives you a pretty comprehensive rundown of the actual componentry in your phone, including the actual resolution of the screen. Compare all it tells you with all the Xiaomi model specs you can find.
thanks. that sounds easy. now waiting for the phone
The real Xiami should have the following specs
http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_2s-5397.phpIf your phone does not match the specifications, for example, the CPU is a Mediatek instead of a Snapdragon then it's definitely not the real deal.
You can check the phone IMEI on the Xiaomi website. If it's not registered on the site, then it's a knock off.

Do a box opening video after you recieve the parcel. That way you have hard evidence of it been fake out of box (if it is indeed fake), makes the situation more favourable for you if you do go to a Paypal dispute.
thanks everyone for your thoughts and suggestions. much appreciated .
Hi bunjara72!
I ordered the same product from tangfang4410 on ebay, so I'm also worried about what will i get. Did you got a tracking number? You know that tangfang4410 is no longer an ebay user, so I think if we will get something it will be fake for sure.
Please inform me if you received your package.
ThanksI hope you get to read this…
Bunjara72 may not be getting email updates. Pretty unreliable for me from OzBargain (may be a Gmail issue).
Try sending him a personal message. I would have sent this as a pm to you, but having logged-on to OzB from the U.S. on one occasion, the site, ongoing, seems to think I'm a Yank! Messaging locked.Same advice to you as in my comment aboce . Don't be slow in launching a PayPal dispute if/when you need to…
Thanks for your answer! Same here, I can't send a message because i'm not in Australia.
How can anyone be sure? You, or me, won't know whether it's fake or real until you actually open the package and verify it. But if you want a sense of reassurance, well you at least have Paypal buyer protection.
The only thing you can do if it is fake, is to send it back and claim a Paypal dispute for SNAD (signficantly not as described). Paypal however may not always rule in your favor, and they'll have you jump through all sorts of hoops to get a refund.
It's probably very obvious, but always check the buyer's reputation before you commit — read their feedback and their seller history. Also check the prices on other reputable websites, e.g Merimobiles, Deal Extreme
