3DS XL (Pokemon X/Y edition) $199 JB Hi-Fi Melbourne

Hey,

So one guy managed to get a Pokemon edition 3DS XL from JB for $199 @ Chadstone:

So I went to another JB store which is around 30 minutes from Chadstone and they priced matched there own store without any fuss, I could have bought more if I wanted to.

Probably will only work in Melbourne, but doesn't hurt to try anywhere else.

      No, but it seems 1 fella managed to get it for that price, and so did I. So I suggest if anyone is interested they should give it a go.

    op… cheers for your receipt. my local jb refused to match the price but target in the same complex had no hesitation. picked up the red pokemon edition for myself and a blue one for a mate. on the charger now… keen to give Pokemon X a whirl!

      Just showed it on my phone. Had called up prior to confirm stock. Girl behind counter got the all clear from the manager and good to go. Manager didn't even look at my phone at all.

    Thanks op, I will try this tomorrow at JB HIFI chadstone. They always matched the price with EB games for me, but let's see if they can do the price match for their own price!

      No, you already paid, if you wanted to price match, you had to do it at the time of purchase.

      Buy a new one at the price matched price, then go back later with your first receipt and the unopened new 3DS and get a refund…

    Just FYI, if anyones looking in Melbourne, theres no stock at the city JB (any of them) but there appears to be red and blue ones scattered around in the subrubs like the receipts from the ones above. JB brighton has both types as of this afternoon. You probably want to phone ahead and check though.

    Hey Yall just posting some advice with regards to using the above. bring all the receipts with you!

    Im based in Sydney and have had some trouble getting price matches from JB before so i went to Target (at Broadway) with a printout of chux's docket, and the other two for Jb. They eventually gave a price match, but they were really shitty about it forcing me to show the JB receipts and effectively threaten to take my business elsewhere.

    Just got mine for $193. :)

    Bought a 3DS XL from Essendon DFO yesterday for $232 (he cost-priced it for me) and today went to JB Maribyrnong and they price-matched the Chadstone one (didn't even ask for the reciept). Then I took that console and returned it to Essendon DFO and they refunded me $238 instead of $232. :)

    Happy to post both receipts (purchase and refund) if anybody requests it.

      It's a mistake from them. I would not call it a deal and the mony should be refunded to them.
      It may the person who did this mistak paid for it

    Someone from WP forums said he priced matched the target.com site, which is the US site. I guess its an easy mistake to make.

    Quick tips: If the employee straight out says no, ask them if they can ask their manager or if you can speak to them.

    Also, try to head to a JB that either has a more popular one next to it (mine did) or one you know doesn't get a lot of people.

      we got rejected by JB at highpoint vic so… we went next door to TGG to try our luck… and bingo… their last 3ds XL sold for $199… man we were lucky - try TGG (elsewhere cos maribyrnong is out of stock) and do not bother going to JB

    For anyone in QLD, after failing to get a price match at Good Guys, I managed to get a $200 price match at Kmart (Browns Plains), using Samuel1ucas's Target receipt. They also price matched Pokemon X with Good Guys price of $44.

          yep, in the meantime get the DSi with a flash cart and catch dem pokemon to trade to your X/Y

          If you use a flashcart your only going to be able to get BW1/2 onto xy. You need real copies of gold/silv plat etc to use poketransfer, as fakes and flash cards dont have the IR reciever. (You also need a real copy of bw1/2 to transfer them from gold/silv plat.

          Nah the worst thing is, ebay is full of fakes - fakes that dont have the IR. I managed to get a legit platinum through the luck of the gods.

      With our current dollar we dont get much of a cheaper deal importing from the UK anymore. 3DS games also seem to keep a pretty high value for some unknown reason.

    Hi people,

    Here to return the favor. I've been able to get my local Kmart to match the pokemon X/Y edition receipt on here.

    Went to 1 Target and called another, both refused to price match or modify existing bundle. The 2nd one state that the receipt had to be less than a week old. Customer services from both were both poor and unprofessional.
    The Kmart bloke was very friendly. He had to call his manager though as apparently they dont usually price match on consoles and they would had to be the same models. The bloke was very friendly, honest and really tried to help me out.

      Just went to local Kmart in Sydney and the guy said that they will only price-match everyday prices, he looked at the code next to the product, P4 on your receipt means that it was a once-off price match (or something like that) so he'll be unable to price match it.

      Another thing added is that IF he can verify a Kmart that sells an item everyday at a lower price ALL the Kmart stores will have to adjust it down to that price.

        Yeah, I definitely got lucky. I went back today to try and get the same deal for a friend and they said "it was a mistake".
