Got this in my e-mail as a weekly promotion. Looks like a good deal for a good IEM's judging by most user reviews.

Also on sale for a week is the A151P model, from $79.99 down to $48.99 delivered using the same coupon code. Here is the link:

  • How do these compare to Klipsch S4's?

    • These are balanced armature headphones…

    • I have the S4 for years now and still couldn't find anything that I would replace it for.
Very convenient, relatively cheap and for me perfect sounding :)
(okay, maybe my Event TR6 monitors sound better but I cannot carry them around :)

  • From what I'm told, the S6P (which i bought last week) are meant to be on par with S4's. Both of these models are meant to be better than S6P, so based on that, both should be better than S4's, especially the A161P model.

  • Free posage is within US only. The 161P delivered to Oz comes in at $60.99 so not quite as good as OZB deal from last week or was it week before?

    • Good spot, i missed that bit. I'll update it now. Still a very good deal IMO.

    • +1

Actually it's better than last week's deal because there's a $2.95 postage discount as well.
The MEElec rep is offering a $2.95 discount to orders made from the previous post.

      • The $2.95 US discount is automatically deducted at checkout for international buyers as well so yeah, this deal is couple of bucks better than previous. I remember previous price at just shy of $55 but that didn't include postage.

  • can someone explain the 'balanced' of these earphones? i get that the wiring is different and the benifits as such , but is it compatible with my xperia? or do i need a balanced source?

Nope :( Balanced earphones are not compatible with Xperias.

The "balanced" part of BA headphones just means that the armature is balanced in its placement in a magnetic field. It will work as well as any dynamic driver with your phone.

      • +1

It just means the mechanics that generate the sound are not 'drums' or called dynamic drivers. Instead these use much smaller, better responding armatures in magnetic field to generate sound. So the reference BA has to do with the mechanics of how sound is generated and has not effect from how a phone is wired/brand/type.

If you can stick it into a 3.5mm output plug (which every smartphone has), it'll work. Basically. Even an ipod, a laptop, a desktop or a mixer.

Top end stuff even has multiple armatures to cover high, middle and low ends, such as the Sony XBA series or the popular UE TripleFi.This model (as it's not mentioned that it uses multiple armatures) i would think uses only 1 armature. It is better than your average dynamic drivers, imagine what ones with 3 or 4 can do…. ;)

        • thanks for the explanation i was unfortunately confusing my self with balanced TRRS connectors when i was reading up on this stuff thanks for the clarification

  • I soo really wanted to grab a set from that last deal but reading about the thin cable issues on Amazon reviews kept me from taking the plunge. Got a pair of the Sport-Fi M6P's though, hopefully here next week :)

  • Well, if nothing else, they look like beautiful in-ears. Unfortuantely, I'm done with buying >$50+ earphones :(

    • Thats why you buy one set of custom iems and you're good.

  • Noooo.. its expired I believe
