$699 PS4 Bundle with Extra Controller, PS Eye and Killzone: Shadow Fall

320

First confirmation that the Europe bundle is coming to Australia!?!

Dick Smith has put up a $699 PS4 Bundle with Extra Controller, PS Eye and Killzone: Shadow Fall.

Release date is slated as: 1st December 2013

Hopefully places like EBGames and JBHiFi have theirs up in the near future and people who have already pre-ordered (like me) can upgrade and get this at launch.

It pretty much means you are getting a free PS Eye and half-price extra controller.

  • Does DSE require payment upfront?

    • +1

Looks like payment upfront is required for this bundle (online). Not sure if I want to part with $700 for a product that has an undefined delivery date.

  • so i guess its not a release bundle…. :(

    • 29th is a Friday. 1st is a Sunday. So it's probably just a date mistake.

  • Also, where are you getting 1 Dec? The description does say
"Bundle Includes; 500GB Console, Killzone Shadowfall, Additional Dualshock 4 Controller and PS4 Eye Camera.

    500GB Bundle available Late December"

    • Left of price at top : Pre-Order Now:
      Releases on 01-Dec-13

      • Thanks

  • Thats 150$ more than the standard pack. Wonder if it's worth it compares to the standard pack for $550.

    • imo, definitely no.

    • +1

It's good for the price, but it depends if you want everything in the bundle. I am tempted, but I'd rather pay less without the camera.

      PS4 $548 + additional Dualshock 4 ($88 @ HN) + Killzone ($94 @ HN) + PS4 Camera ($74 @ HN) = $804 (Saving of $105)

      • -4

the rationals wont pay $94 for a copy of the game. unless you are desperate to play the game together with you mates/bro/sis, i wont bother paying $88 for an extra controller. as to camera, pffft…

        • +4

so what are you going to play with your new PS4 toy, PS3 games?

        • not that it can play ps3 games.. he will be very bored

      • MightyApe have Killzone for $69 + postage, looks like UK stock if that matters.

    • PS4 console: $549
      Killzone-Shadow Fall: $99.95
      PS Eye: $89.95
      Dualshock 4: $99.95

      Total value: $838.85
      Bundle Price: $699

Now tell me. Is it worth it?

I have everything in this bundle pre ordered seperately except the Eye, so I'm basically getting that for free if I upgrade to this bundle.

  • According to this forum, some have enquired with DSE, and it is being release late Dec, not 1st Dec

Would be nice if there was a pack without the useless eye thing.

    • Even without the eye they would still sell it for $699.

      • I suppose the controller adds some value.

  • +1

    TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!!!

  • is the PS eye for PS4 the same as that for PS3

    • Technically no, and I assume the PS3 eye is not compatible. I believe the PS3 move controllers are compatible?

      • true. PS eye for PS3 and PS4 is different. I think PS3 move controller is compatible.

    • PS eye is finally 1080p, webcam on ps3 is like 480x240

      • +1

        Not quite,

        Video pixel: (Maximum) 1280 x 800 pixel x 2

        Source: http://au.playstation.com/ps4/features/techspecs/

        Also side note,

For a limited time, when you buy the disc or digital version of selected games for PlayStation 3 you can download a PlayStation 4 digital copy of the same game from PlayStation Store for a discounted price.

        • Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag - AU$14.45
        • Watch_Dogs - AU$14.45
        • Battlefield 4 - AU$14.45
        • NBA 2K14 - AU$21.95
        • Call of Duty: Ghosts - AU$9.99
        • You need to use the disc in the PS4 in order to download the game and it also reports that you need the PS3 disc in order to play the game on the PS4 (I have a feeling that this is misinformation on Sony's behalf though)

just transferred my pre order to the dse bundle since I was already on the 2nd shipment which was said to be available around christmas time anyways (also placed my pre order with dse) and im first inline for this bundle! cant wait!

    • Did you do this online or instore?

      • did this instore. they had to refund my pre order for the ps4 and changed it to a customer order. they dont know the date they just said late dec

  • I have a launch preorder at EB but it doesn't stop me from wanting this. I wonder if I can make $700 on day 1 and pay for this bundle?

    • Considering that stock has been exhausted and people are having to wait until December/early 2014, I'd say you could make in excess of $1200.

PS3 consoles were going for over $5000 on eBay around launch time. Yes, it was delayed in some regions, but with Christmas so close, some parents will be spending a little extra for that PS4.

      • +5

You are going to give a lot of people Broden ideas here.

      • and therein lays the problem. Launch stock is exhausted and has been for some time now, unless more launch stock becomes available then we can't even order more to sell at a higher price at launch.

Also there are rumours both Sony and MS are holding back a little bit of stock so that they can have some on store shelves, but I don't think that is true.

        • Just think in their shoes: "how do we make the most money?"

  • I want to get this bundle, better value than the stand alone console. But you need to pay for the whole amount online, can't just preorder with $50.

    • go in store and all you need to do is put down 10% deposit

  • I was planning on buying Killzone, Fifa 14 and an extra controller day one. So if I can get this bundle for $700 I'd be laughing. I did preorder at EB a couple of days after the Sony E3 conference so hopefully I have a choice to be upgraded. :)
I asked instore at EB about a week ago about this bundle and was told that they'd contact customers who've preordered to see if they'd want to upgrade. Early preorders get priority of course.

    • +1

Right with you there - just swap Fifa 14 for Watch_Dogs

      • Right with you there - just swap Watch_Dogs for The Division

        • Right with you there - just swap The Division for The Order: 1886

        • Right with you all there , because I'm gonna get l of these games

      • I was going to buy Watch_Dogs too, but from Ozgameshop as I don't mind waiting a week or two for that one. :)

  • The deals are "value added" for sony, not for consumers. Its disappointing that they are taking launch stock away from those just wanting the console and sticking them in these over priced bundles.

The yankee doodle dandies paid $499 for a ps4 + bf4 + 12 months of psn plus in one of amazons bundles.

    • Hmm, considering I've already preordered:

      PS4 + Killzone + Extra Controller + Camera = ~$800-$830
      Bundle = $700

Seems like it's added value(the term 'value' is relative of course) to me.
Hell, even if you didn't want the camera you're still saving $40-$50 over what you would have spent anyway…

  • +3

Jeez that's a lot of money. A real Ozbargainer would be prepared to wait a bit until prices got a bit more realistic. Which reminds me, I need to go out and pick up one of those Wii's I've been hearing so much about…

    • Except your looking at a year or more until the price goes down, I am betting on it being more than a year since the price is considerably less this time around. The PS3 launched in Australia at $999

      • I'm still hanging on for Mass Effect 3 to go a bit cheaper still before I buy it :-)

        • If you were a real ozbargainer you would have bought a ps plus subscription ages ago when one of the sales was on and received mass effect 3 as part of the subscription :P

  • +1. This is a damn good deal but already pre-ordered from EB and don't want to lose my slot since next batch is supposedly early 2014, hopefully they offer an upgrade. It's only an extra $150 for roughly $300 worth of stuff too. I actually do want all 3 of the extras but the controller + game make it worth the extra $150 alone.

  • This would be nice. Have mine pre ordered already, but if EB got this and offered me an upgrade I would probably take it.

Since I haven't heard from them I would say that is a niet.

    • I asked the manager at my local and he said he doesn't believe EB will be getting this bundle, hard to believe as they are the bundle specialists here in Oz but it is beginning to look like it may be true.

      • My local manager said the same. He said Sony told him that they didn't need to offer a bundle since they are already sold out in Australia.

        • If that is the case, can Dick Smith honor the date on the website? Or is this a provisioned date

        • Sold out for bundles or for the consoles alone? That kind of sucks, I'd have thought EB Games would offer the bundle to keep the sales. But I might have to try Dick Smith, which I don't want to do with the way they're running things now days and it could also mean Dick Smith might not be able to honour it.

  • still confuse with the available date.

    top says "Releases on 01-Dec-13"

Bottom says "500GB Bundle available Late December"

One month waiting could easily kill the deal.

    • +1

This sounds like the plot of the new OzBargain blockbuster. Free seating of course. Coming this summer.

  • Rang Dick Smith and will wait for their response if they can honor the date

    • 1st of December is the wrong date they said to be expecting it late December when I placed my order

      • +1

Looks like most of us are going to get Dicked around for a while on this.

      • I ordered mine on Monday (14th Oct) when it said "Release on 1st Dec 2013". Called up their online sales/support team and they confirmed it will shipped soon after 1st Dec. When I checked the page today now it says 24th Dec 2013 release. Called up again and they said that's because the first batch of bundles have been sold out. And this is the second batch/shipment. Not sure how reliable these thech/product support people are though.

        • i ordered mine 15th Oct as well "said release 1st Dec" then next day changed to 24th Dec?!?!?
so you recon our will be in 1st batch?

        • Ya same case for me too. Paid for it then next day was a different release date. I called twice before and after they changed the date, spoke to 2 diff reps. Both of them said if the site said release on 1st Dec when I paid for it we will get it then. And the guy I spoke to second said the date changed because the first shipment of bundles were sold out. I hope he is right. Not sure what their policy is on online order cancellations but I wonder if we can cancel if we don't get in first shipment. Too bad the receipt did not have any details on the release date.

I'm hoping this makes eb finally release info on the bundles, they've been promising info for weeks but keep holding out. I want to upgrade my preorder with them to this bundle. Currently have ps4, killzone and bonus controller preordered, means I would basically get the ps eye for free which is a nice bonus. If eb doesn't come to the party soon, I'm changing my order to dse, mrs isn't letting me touch the ps4 until Christmas Day anyway, so the December delay doesn't matter to me lol.

  • my local harvey norman said that they are sold out of ps4's until march next year.and the same for EB.hopefully dick smith has a few left.

    • +1

Just got an email from JBhifi, $548 for the console before Christmas, prolly not as good a deal…

      http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/ps4-console/

    • I ordered Killzone bundle about a week ago with JB who promised shipping before Christmas, they just called me to say it won't be in and they do not know when it will be available. I think the only guarantee is the basic $540 deal with a controller. Not happy at all as this was the selling point for me.

      • I ordered one the day they advertised and it was cancelled because same reason as yours. Hopefully the ones who didn't pre order won't have to wait till Feb-March to get their hands on a PS4.

  • out of stock

For those who preordered, you can shave $60 off the bundle with the gift cards here. I don't think it will last very long so do it quick guys.
