Bonds is having a secret sale and a selection of Mens Trunks have been reduced to $10 using the coupon code with free shipping until the end of Sunday.

From what I can see most sizes are still available as well.

Not sure whether the 10% extra for a Facebook Like works with this deal.

$10 for something that costs 50c to make in Bangladesh. No thanks.

I picked a few of these up last time they were posted to OzBargain and I was seriously disappointed at the quality; I don't think they're a good buy even at $10. Bonds has been a rip-off ever since they moved production out of Australia.

Take an iconic Aussie value brand, manufacture it for a pittance in a developing country to a crap spec, then market it as a hip brand and charge a premium.

No thanks Pacific Brands, you ruined Dunlop Volleys too, you can go and get stuffed!

      • This.

        Used to be good.

        Not anymore.

        Sad…

Aussiebum for a few more dollars, always made in Australia! Aussiebum are still half the price of Calvin Klein which is made in Vietnam! Few months after Bonds moved manufacturing I was browsing their products in Big W. There was noticeable differences in the quality, feel and colour for same product.

Their swimwear is great too, not super cheap though unfortunately

    • +2

If you think the price of any product has much to do with how much it cost to produce you're sorely mistaken …

      • +2

Yeah, you don't see Target brand Maxx being advertised by a former World No1 tennis player!!!

      • If that's the case we should stop complaining about how we get ripped off in Australia.

      • And take Oakley for example… They spend over 3 times as much on marketing and advertising per pair of sunnies than what they do on manufacturing them!!!

Bangladesh and India makes very good clothing as well. It is the profit hungry companies, which want more profit and degrade on quality. I think companies have seen that people here in Australia want to pay less and are not that concerned about the quality of clothing.

    • On a site that promotes grey importing and generally buying items produced overseas, based in a country that basically manufactures none of it's own products - you complain about $10 undies?

  • +2

The quality of Bonds is quite good.
    $10 is a good price.
Usually these are $15 even when they're on special.

    Thanks for posting.

  • +3

yeah $10 for sub quality goods…

If was Australian made, I'd go for it. Sorry, moved away from Bonds since they moved offshore…

Where do you buy your socks shoes hats shirts pants and shorts?

      • +6

And the other 99% of items you possess ???

2 pairs of AllSorts boxer/briefs exactly like these in Big W for $6 ($3 each)

I used to wear Bonds shirts and track pants about 10 years ago, they were cheaper (about the cheapest you could find in any supermarket or clothing store) and made in Australia.

Now they are more expensive than premium brands and made overseas, if they were still cheap they may have my loyalty but for $40-60 (used to be $10-15) I'd buy Nike or Adidas track pants for less. Also now nearly all of the Bonds track pants look like pajama bottoms and you wouldn't want to leave the house in them.

Ah.. I couldn't care if people still buy Bonds but its not the good old value for money long lasting clothing that it used to be.

  • Ive bought both aussie bum and bonds and I have to say I hate the aussiebum underwear much less comfortable.

  • +4

because this is made in China. why would I buy this over China brands that costs a fraction of what bonds/Pacific brands are asking for?

    • -3

So that the money doesn't go directly offshore

    • Cambodia**

New ones are from Cambodia, not China.

      • Must depend on the actual style. I got 2 made in China & 2 made in Cambodia!

  • long time bonds wearer, also noticed tshirts, underpants etc all seem too stretch, get holes, threads come undone so much faster these days.
    pity

Mossimo has to be the way to go. Im a (was) huge aussiebum wearer until i found they started to get a bit tight in special areas, generally a really good fit and they listen to customers - I bought some gave some feedback about the back label being scratchy (thousands of others did as well) two months later their production changed to include black cotton hiding the sewing of the labels!

But still get mossimo when they are on special much much better!

BEST DEAL EVER…REP Do another one of those!

  • although bond undies are comfy, they don't seem to last too long - mine starts to wear out after a year. After two years they are loose and I don't feel like wearing them anymore.

My Mossimo's are going well after 2 years.

    Just my 2 cents

    • -1

      wear out after a year.

A year you say!!! I only wear mine out once every week or two!!! ;)

      • Must be related to all the portable hard drives you're buying on OzB… :P

  • The link you posted doesn't work for me OP. Nor does the code :/

  • $10 at Target Country as well

  • Last time I ordered from bonds they gave me the wrong colour.
I wanted black, damnit, not navy blue, if I wanted navy blue I would have ordered navy blue.

still wearing them, but not as sexy as black, and I can't be Mod: Foul Language to bother with fixing it up, stupid bonds.

  • how do these compare with cheap calvin klein ebay knock offs?

    • +2

Nothing wrong with them. Admittedly you're also paying for the name… But do you really want girls seeing you in $5 Target branded undies??? Not sure about knock off undies, I've never been that tight!!! ;)

      • +1

@Snoop, Hey, if you got the goods, the ladies don't care what you wear. Just sayin..

    • Hopefully they are better (in looks and quality) than cheap knock offs or the target/kmart brands

but yeah haven't tried myself :P anyone know how they compare to bonds?

    • they're pretty good, have had them for about a year. mine haven't loosened and size is pretty accurate. considering the cost is like < $5 they're a lot better than expected

  • Microfibre or bust.

  • good deal. arrived quickly. thanks OP.

  • Yeah, forgot to say… Ordered that Friday and received on the Tuesday!
