the best price they both could do for me was $619
is there a way I can ask them to do it for $524 or even cheaper?

http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=au&c…They normally cycle their deals around, every week or so between the different monitors. So a different monitor has 30% off every week - just need to wait for your monitor to come on sale.
Also, you can sometimes get discounts off Dell products if you're with RACQ or some other motoring club here:
Although from my experience you can't normally combine the discounts.

I wanted one of these for work (as I have the older model at home and am very happy with it) - I got no where with live chat online, so I called the phone number after much messing around was told they couldn't provide a significantly better price (the phone agent gave me a price $10-20 cheaper than the live chat agent) had provided. I gave a bit of a spiel about how Dell continually spams me with offers and now that I am ready to buy they are offering me nothing special. Hung up and forgot about it - 2 days later the phone agent emailed me offering the monitor @ 29% off or something so close to 30% off it was impossible to say no to…..So if you left your name, telephone number and email address with them sit tight, I'm somewhat confident you may be receiving an email or call within a few days with some sort of additional saving or offer.
