Suit pants alterations for cheap in or near Ashburton Vic

Hi all, hoping I'll get some advice about a good but economical clothing alteration service in or near Ashburton Vic. I went into some of the places in South Melb near work and they want $23-26 just to lengthen my pants (ie unpick and restitch at the bottom just reclaiming some of the existing material underneath!).

That's highway robbery methinks. Closer to $10 for this would be fair I think - i have about 5 pairs to do! I've got a week on training so need to go in on Saturday to get all of these done!

Yes I must have eating a bit much and the pants are now too short…

    Not sure about closer to Ashburton, but I was at Southland shopping centre last weekend and the big alteration shop there had advertised prices as $9.95 for alteration of pants. May be you can check out their number from the southland online directory and give them a call for more details.

    Unfortunately, lengthening is the time consuming job. Carefully unpicking the existing cuff so as not to damage the pants takes time. Much easier to shorten pants especially if they can just cut off the bottom quickly and restitch the cuff. Have you got a relative or friend who can do it. Good luck.

    Hi guys, Southland is too far from me and I wasn't aware that lengthening is much more time consuming but definitely makes sense - thanks heaps guys. Still, trying to get other options regardless!
