Jetstar Japan - has the website been changed

I visited jetstar japan and went through all of their translation stuff. It is harder to use than when I used it for previous trips. For example, when I choose travel dates, I click on the calendar date but it puts the wrong date in and I have to enter it manually. When you select the number of passengers from the drop down box, some of the numbers are spelled out alphabetically and some are in numeric form.

At the end of this process, they have given me an aud amount, not a yen amount.

I have bought from them in yen before so am wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

Thanks

At the top of the page choose "This is the website for Japan (English)" there should be no need to translate.

If the point of origin of the entire trip is Japan then the price will be in Yen.
If you book a one-way trip eg. from Australia to Japan then the price will be in Aussie dollars.

    • Previously, an intra-OZ trip was priced in yen on this website.

      • Ah. I see. In that case probably they've fixed that loophole on the website.

In yen the price would have been ex GST. I guess they got ozbargained?

        • I think the savings were much more than simply gst, depending on when you flew.

  • +1

Oops, my bad. It is expedia.co.jp that I am thinking of. There is a smallish discount on when I am thinking of flying, but I can do a little bit better still with a tiger price match.

    • Yeah, I'd been using the expedia.co.jp - Jetstar loophole for 6 months or more to fly Sydney-Hobart during a family members long illness and subsequent death, then suddenly the heavy discounts stopped about 6 or 8 weeks ago.
