Cancelling order with virgin mobile - terrible!!!

Did you know that if you want to cancel a pre-order for unreleased phone (as of mid-Sept) like experia Z1 you have to go through this:

  • Try calling their customer service to cancel the order 2 weeks in advance.
Not going to help as they don't have proper cancellation process, you need
    to continue below.

  • Refused the delivery when the phone arrived
Yes you have to make sure that you're there when the courier arrived to
refused delivery, you can't get virgin to stop the delivery and cancel the
    order altogether

  • Check the status of the delivery refusal
Because virgin mobile won't follow this up, and when the phone was shipped
your postpaid plan is activated on that day.

  • The tracking website says its returned, but my postpaid plan still active?
Virgin customer service said this is due to their system is different from
the tracking website. So they can't revert the new postpaid plan to
prepaid or switch to different carrier without massive payout fee.

So at this stage its been almost a week after I refused the delivery and virgin mobile hasn't done anything.

Does anyone else experiencing the same nightmare??

Same thing happened to me, when I contacted them to cancel an order, the rep basically told me the same, they cannot cancel it. I was advised to not accept the delivery, it will get returned to their warehouse and they wont charge me for it. Its a silly system they have, but true to their words they havent charged me.

P.S so I wouldnt worry too much about it, youll be fine.

    • Yes similar thing happened to me from Amazon UK. They wouldn't cancel the replacement order. Even though it was all sorted out. Then I had to stay at home for 2 Days to refuse the delivery. I checked the status that delivery was refused.I even contacted the courier company. Item ended up in Abandoned orders depot. But Amazon wouldn't respond. They charged my credit card. After a lot of hassle I did get the money back. I would not buy from Amazon again. They all are the same. Good luck.

  • Virgin Mobile Terrible,
I use prepaid virgin mobile. My contract is supposed to expire today (30.9.14) The day ends at 12 midnight. I tried to recharge my account.Guess what! My contract is already expired when the day is not finished. Can some one tell me how the contract can expire before the end of the day. I wonder how many people are ripped off by Vigin mobile like this. Any experiences with Virgin ?

    • I also used virgin mobile prepaid, but I always recharged before it expired couple of days before, never left it on the last day.

Maybe their system is hosted somewhere else, like in India or USA, which has different timezone.

To be safe always recharge couple of days before the expiry date, always work for me in the last couple of years using their prepaid.
