Help me find decent Adult Inline Skates (roller blades) for a decent price please

Hey guys,

So the Mrs and I are planning to get into skating.

I've looked around on ebay and other sites, I have absolutely no idea what's good and what's not, especially when it comes to good value for money.

We're both beginners so would love some input from you guys who know a little about this hobby.

I'm around a size 10-11, she's a size 6-7

Cheers

  • Mine are K2, they are a decent brand.

  • I'd recommend finding an online forum for the type of skating you will be doing. I used the freestyle / slalom forums to get an idea of which skates the long-timers are wearing, reviewing and recommending. Then shopped around and ended up getting them delivered in a week from locoskates in the UK for a fraction of the price here. There may be skating groups in your area that meet regularly; I'm sure they would love to advise you if you went along.

I would also recommend buying good quality (the most expensive you can justify) even if you are beginning since they take a pounding and poor quality skates will just give you and your feet a bad experience. You can get faster bearings and wheels later on which aren't expensive as long as you have a commonly available size.

My wife has had her 1 pair of Bauer for 15 years but with new sets of bearings/wheels (she just goes gently in a straight line) I use Seba now.
