  • does it really matter if i use this in my top loader washer?

    • Hi, no I don't matter. I have a top loader and use front loader of which is cheaper at the time. :)

      • +2

front loader is supposed to have less bubbles I think,

I think its ok to use front loader powder in a top loader but its not recommended for the other way around.

oh and this deal looks like a once off sticker? how is that nationwide?

        • +1

Have confirmed with head office it's Australia wide.

        • +1

Have confirmed with head office it's Australia wide.

If that's the case, the majority of the stores don't seem to know about it and are charging much more.

Too many bubbles definitely does nasty things to a front loader…… and the entire laundry!

        • +1

I been using top loader in my front loader since I forgot to check one day and bought a trolley load of top loader on special. Haven't had a problem with bubbles taking over my laundry as yet.

        • +1

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but IMO it looks like a store special since its not advertised.

        • +2

Just called a local w'wooths in melb. suburbs & the guy said on their inhouse data which all w'wooths utilise, it doesn't state the $8.
          I called W'wooths 1300 767 969 & they also confirmed the original price of $40
She did say some stores may have the item reduced

Which store did you get the w/powder for $8

I went to many stores in the hunter region and they all had the sale. I now have 15 buckets of it.

It's not pretty when it happens, and takes a LONG time to clean up.

….. a touch too much woolwash.

  • +1

    Which woollies?

    • I've been told by a woolworths manager it's Australia wide. or until there out of stock

      • +1

Would it be fraud to print the pic and cut and stick the reduced barcode on a pack instore at my local? And self scan it myself? Im sure the barcode would work.

        But, where is there stock?

        Double Bay = No
        Bondi Junction = No

That stock was allocated to I assume most Woolworths stores as a non-standard product (a product which they normally don't sell off the shelves and once they sell out, they sell out).

Seeing as it's a reduced to clear sticker (RCS) it will only be in the stores in which the Long life team leader (LLTL) or someone in Longlife to care enough to reduce it would be bothered enough to sticker it to get rid of it.

Therefor it's not a constant sale Australia wide, state wide or even city wide. Nor is it guaranteed to be $8 in every store, as when you use those RCS you manually input the % you're reducing it by.

In a woolworths store if you see the stickers on it, assume it's purely that store. If the item has a special price (on a ticket) and something's crazy cheap even then I wouldn't assume it's outside of the store as you can manually creates promotional batches and is often used by the people in that department to clear useless, slow selling non-standard lines.

  • 40 sounds pretty steep to start off with.

    • +1

Well go get it while it's only $8 :)

    • +1

Its for an 8kg box, 1.5kg costs $5-$10, this is a very good price, but not sure about the brand itself "BioZet Attack", doesn't seem to remove stains

      • It's great at removing scents IMO.
I went from Bio to Omo when it was on special and it never got rid of that sweat smell from my gym clothes even when I soaked it. I went back to Bio and it got rid of it.

  • +3

"New low price" of $29.98 at my local (Wangaratta, VIC)

    • +2

Same at my local one too.
      must be a store special

      • +2

you might get different prices at different stores, as they shouldn't be reducing the price with a sticker like OP purchased (unless its defect somehow)

        • Tal can you price match another Woolies store ? lol

    • +4

Same - $29.98 at Kogarah as well.

I'm negging to draw attention that it isn't available everywhere despite what it says in the OP about being available nationally. If others come back and do get it other places, I'll remove the neg.

  • it's a good powder. I got slot of samples a while back but I now use liquid only.

  • +1

How many kg is this ?

    • +1

      Seriously? It's in the picture…

  • +1

So which store did you get it from?

  • +4

I went to four - yes four - local Woolworths, none of which had it for this price. I'm also yet to see anyone else confirm this bargain at their local store.
I'd suggest it's simply a bargain at your store.

    • +4

Agreed, it sounds like a one-off item and not even the OP has revealed the location of a single store at which we can purchase for this price. An excellent deal if it's available, but sounds like there is only one lucky recipient.

just check woolworth online it is still $20.4 for 1.8kg

    • +9

Don't know where you are getting your appliance propaganda from but front loaders are all the rage in these days of water and energy efficiency.

    • +8

What are you talking about? Front loaders are the leading washing machines. Do you have an "ultra modern" top loader?

And BTW, nice abrasive way of expressing your opinion.

    • +4

Weird. Top loaders are the old tech in washers. Front loaders are better for clothes, use less water and less energy.

    • +4

Lol this guy is an idiot, give him a break though - he was born in 94

      • Maybe they don't even do laundry?

    • you are joking right?

  • +2

OP, your thumb is very scary in the pic….

    • That thumb has been through a lot, imagine what stories it would tell…

    • Haha indeed it is.

  • +2

Definitely the very best at getting BO out, short or soaking in Napisan or using bleach.
Its from Japan. Japs dont screw around when it comes to personal hygiene.

Yes, but did you really need to ask?

    • +4

Fradulent or not, I admire the lengths you'd go to, to get that bargain lol

      • +1

Like in the great bargain hunting movie

"Heat" where deniro gets bargain cash at a bank

    • +3

Why not put the item in your bag and just walk out the store like you have nothing to buy?

      • +3

        Would that be theft?

        • +3

I was being sarcastic =.= If youre gonna commit fraud, you might as well go one step further to get your 'bargain'.

        • -1

not really because you will get charged with theft, in regards to fraud: advertisements and shelf prices are not offers to trade they are offers to show wares. if you take it to the counter and they offer you that price that is an offer. putting the sticker on it could be considered your offer. I say if you push your luck be prepared to get knocked back.

      • +3

Why not put the item in your bag and just walk out the store like you have nothing to buy?

I guess because it is a large, square, bucket that weights over 8kg.

    • Haha, you sir are a real ozbargainer.

    • That would be theft/fraud, yes. Someone got done for it in a lego store (not sure if in Australia though) last year, they were generating their own barcodes and putting them on products.

Also good luck getting a printed picture of a reduced sticker to scan! They hardly even scan when they are printed properly in-store. Also each reduced sticker is different slightly (hence the ridiculously long barcode for it, a pain to type in -_-).

      • pretty sure that was some dude in target usa…

        • ¿Por qué no los dos?

        • Usted plantea un buen punto!

  • At this price, the stock will be cleaned out of the shelves!

  • +6

Marking as expired as no details of which store its available at and others have reported the price is either $29.98 or $40

  • +3

    $30 at Woolworths Subiaco.

    OP lied :(

  • Went to my local willies no such deal

    • +8

      Went to my local willies

You went to the wrong place mate, we're talking about the supermarket, not the male strip club :P

    • +1

Deal is at Woollies. A place named willies might offer something very different!!

  • +1

the "reduced" tag is only for one shop. It must be close to expiry date.

  • JUST WENT TO THE STORE IN CARDIFF THERE IS STILL (8) BUCKETS LEFT FOR $8 EACH….

  • Anyone found this in Melbourne

  • +6

Has anyone except the op managed to buy it at this price?

    • +5

at this minute i'm entertaining the possibility that OP works at Woolies, has access to a sticker machine, and is trolling us all.

  • -1

Great deal for the product although I won't be taking advantage of it.

Decided to try the Coles/Woolies branded laundry detergent a while back, honestly couldn't tell the difference in results from any other brand including for soaking cloths and handwashing. People (particuarly men I think) are wierd about their washing liquids though and will swallow all sorts of promises so whatever you're comfortable with I guess.

But I think it's like this: once you have the properties of a detergent (forget the name of this … surfaction?) anything else is just … well, not needed.

Feel free to disagree, I'm not going to argue the point but that's my experience.

    • +3

Not sure why you are singling out men? I get the Earth Choice at $2.29/l and am male. Even managed to convince my partner it is good enouhg. In our house it is her that doesn't like the generic brands.

      • +2

Another +1 for Earth Choice here.

    • isn't this cheaper? $1 kg I think yourhomebound one costs more doesn't it

  • +9

This is not a deal seeing that the OP clearly said that "Are available at most woolworths while stocks last…" but not one other person has found this to be true. You got a bargain at your store but wasted other peoples time…

    • +2

Yep, these reduced stickers are store-specific. There's no way to say for sure that every store has reduced an item, especially at the same % as this store apparently has. I wouldn't count on any other store having this in stock at this price.

I honestly don't believe this should be on the front page. Grats to OP for finding a bargain for yourself, but it's unlikely anyone else can get such a deal.

  • FYI Just wen to Woolies Centro Arndale SA, they dont stock 8Kg box, 5Kg being their biggest in that brand.

  • +2

No one thought to tell the OP if he keeps cutting his nails that short and not squaring them off he'll end up with ingrown nails? :D

  • No specials at Bankstown, NSW.

  • +2

Woolies kelmscott has stock but it's 30 bucks not 8

  • +2

Reduced stickers are for local store activity, if this was nationwide there would be a printed ticket for it.

    • This ^^

  • +2

  • +1

The manager was definitely misinformed. Reduced prices are always store specific, and are never universal. If the special was across all stores then it would be a ticketed special item, and scanning at the special price across all stores participating in the special.

  • rang my local and the store bloke dsaid he could do it for $20. still +1 as I got it for 50% offthe normal

    • I will check our local store and see how much they are selling this for, 8kg seems to be a lot for me.

    • +4

Lol that's awesome, you can actually haggle at woolies!

I'm going to try my luck at haggling down a pack of kettle chips, :P

  • Hi,
I checked in Subiaco and Cockburn -WA woolie but they are not selling 8kg..
Any one find this price in WA?

    Thanks,

  • Anywhere in Sydney metro ??
