  • Shipping is $38.95, and it is a grey import.

      And it's Shopping Square.

plus $38.95 so more like $800. Pretty much on par with the Harvey Norman offer.

As much as I loathe HN, I think I loathe SS just a little bit more so please get local stock from HN and (presumably) have fewer warranty issues down the road.

Don't have an old mobile to trade in? Visit or call your nearest vinnies or lifeline, they should have heaps kicking around they want a couple of bucks for.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the $89 Off for a trade in deal. However, did it not finish yesterday - or is today the last day?

      • also if your going to trade in a phone, please dip it in water and break it before you give it to harvey! dont let him make money off the trade in! lolz

      • Looks like it ends today according to the T&C.

HN at $888 is a 32GB with local warranty for st least two years.

This is 16GB with a dodgy aftermarket warranty with unknown replacement parts (or a long wait for your phone to be sent to HK).

Against $88 more for a Samsung AU Waranty and double the memory.

So, will some one please tell just how/why this is a bargain?

    • A lot of peoples logic is: the price is lower, so it must be a bargain, so let's completely ignore all other factors including warranty.

      Don't ask me why….

Yes, but even if they were fooled by Kogan Hong Kong's claim about a one year local warranty - one would think they might consider the 16GB vs 32GB memory capacity.

        • guess its how much you value warranty

back then i use to purhase mobiles in hong kong in the grey market (place in mong kok) which has no warranty (they were purchased in japan) and it was usually around 10-15% cheaper

not sure i would these days, considering quality control aint wat it was back then (also more parts that could break)

        • Depends also how much you value memory. $88 for an extra 16GB of memory, when an SD card is much cheaper.

Agree with what's been said above. The real price is $798 including shipping and that's not nearly cheap enough to negate the lack of proper warranty.

Today was the last day for the Harvey Norman sale but that ($799 Australian Stock) remains the price to beat.

  • Is it only grey imports where the 16gb version is available?

Also keep in mind your Note 3, if a grey import, may have to be opened and sim registered before being sent to you.

Grey import gn3 will NOT work in Australia
    Gn3 is region locked
    Unless pre registered

Harvey Norman represents much better value overall for this phone. No dice.
