Ebay $10 off voucher via paypal questions?

Well I went on chat as the terms and conditions do not answer:

  1. Does not say you have to use ebay app?
  2. Can the system tell app was not used?
  3. $10 off Does not say min spend $10?
  4. Can buy 10 x $1 items from same seller= $0.00 on there example given…can not confirm will honour on chat?

  • I received the offer all over eBay. So, I downloaded the app. I logged into PayPal. And I got the error message "Incentive code could not be applied (113)" when I went to buy something. The terms and conditions don't give any clue as to why it's not working.

  • Mine worked ok and even though I use the Ebay app regularly on my Windows phone, I bought and paid for the item using my Macbook and the code worked just fine.

    • Sure, but like cwongtech said, I think it's linked to my Ebay and Paypal accounts so not sure if it'll work for others. But I guess it's no harm trying.

  • I got one but when I went to pay itwas only $6.99. I tried it on another account but it didn't work.

  • I received an invitation to download the app and u need to make a purchase between 5th and 10th of Sept to get the $10 voucher

  • tried to check on my coupon link and got the following:

    "Sorry, the coupon allocation has been exhausted.
    If you received an email from us inviting you to participate in this promotion we'll be issuing another coupon to you in the next 10 days as you missed out this time."

    guessing by the above; code must have been generic instead of unique to each user ID.

  • This is a disaster. I tried using the code (the unique code emailed to me) yesterday and it said that there was no balance left on the gift card (I haven't used it at all). I contacted the customer representative via eBay chat (Andrew M) and he said they pulled off the promotion because the code has been leaked and a lot of "un-invited" customers used it (Yep, this was supposed to be used only for invited members).

    I asked them that if they have complementary code for legit members affected by this inconvenience. He said no but then advised that there will be another promotion - not sure when however.

    I have an item to pay and I had this promo code in mind when I bid it. I asked if I should cancel the purchase (was baiting if the rep was nice enough to give a complementary code). He said to go ahead (to cancel it) and give the support reference number as a prove to the seller.

    Not helping at all…

    I confirm that we currently have an issue regarding redeeming this voucher CMOB3. We already have received a number of contacts about this and we immediately escalated this to our Technical and Marketing Teams.

    Due to this error I suggest that you pay the item in full as we will make a $10.00 credit to your PayPal account within 3-5 days to compensate for the error and to apply the promised discount.

    I also have added your user ID to the affected members to this particular issue to make sure that you’ll get the credit within the said timeframe.

    We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you and I assure you that we never intended to put you at a disadvantage on this or any of the promotions or voucher that we distribute.

    We appreciate your patience on this. Enjoy the rest of your day!

      • I got the same thing. It has a reference number. The thing is, I don't trust eBay to actually go through with this, well not without more of a fight for which I just can't be arsed to be honest. Hopefully my seller cancels the deal like I asked.

    • I received essentially the same reply. I'm not sure if I should wait until ebay resolves this issue (i.e. a new voucher code), or pay now and risk being fooled twice by ebay.
