I'm not much of a gamer - don't usually have the time for it, but I'm severely tempted by GTA V and Fifa 14. I'm haven't properly played Fifa since 1999, and have been telling myself each year that I get the next one. And now that GTA is also out, I am thinking about ending my gaming hiatus.
These are the only two games I am really currently interested in. Therefore I suppose my options to go out and buy a PS3 or Xbox 360 (which are fairly cheap at the moment), or wait a few months for the next generation of consoles.
Questions:
- Are the Xbox One or the PS4 going to be backwards compatible?
- Any suggestion that GTA V will be developed for any of the upcoming consoles?
- When do games for the previous generation of consoles usually stop being produced? In other words, if I buy a PS3 or a Xbox 360 now, how (un)likely I'll be able to play Fifa 15 when that comes out?
Cheers.
1) I don't think so (this could be researched on google quickly)
2) I believe it will be developed for PC. It would be silly for them to not add PS4 / XB1 to the supported platforms as it's such a high profile and current game.
3) I got a PS2 a few months after the PS3 came out. Games were still coming out, but the AAA titles all moved to the new platform.
4) After PS4 / XB1 comes out, look for the price of the older consoles to fall through the floor.
