Flybuys - then you will receive notifications of extra points to be made through all their affiliated stores + extra discount on fuel.Just have to activate the offers
Everyday rewards through Woollies will send extra discounts through for fuel but you need to find a caltex station which is also part of the Woollies group ( not all are) Also the discount can take weeks to be applied to your card.
Don't have a credit card through either retailer so cannot comment on those possible benefits
Everyday rewards links in nicely with Qantas Frequent Flyers if that's your thing.
In terms of rewards credit cards, I've got the Amex Platinum Edge card which has a 3/2/1 points earning rate (3 points per dollar spend at supermarkets, 2 points on petrol). The points can be used on a bunch of things, including a number of airline reward programs. Annual fee of $195 includes a free domestic return flight every year. If you search through the forums you'll see it's commonly recommended as one of the better value rewards cards. PM me if you're interested and I can get you 15,000 bonus points on sign-up - the standard signup points is 10,000.
Don't you pay higher fees sometimes for paying with Amex though? And have you found there are many places that won't accept it?
There are many threads in the forums discussing rewards cards so best have a look. Below is a summary of updated AMEX bonus points (and fees) you can get if referred by a current cardholder. Please PM me if you need a referral:
Platinum Charge Card 60,000 points (Annual fee $900)
Platinum Reserve Card 40,000 points (Annual fee $395)
Platinum Edge Card 15,000 points (Annual fee $195)
Gold Charge Card 30,000 points (Annual fee $130 + $80 MR Ascent opt-in fee)
David Jones Amex 20,000 points (Annual fee $99)
These are for new AMEX applications only so you can't hold any existing AMEX cards.
Add your estimated annual spend into the calculator on our site and you can get an idea on what sort of returns you'd expect from each card

how much would you be spending on the card and are you willing to pay an annual fee?
