Buying a suit in Sydney

Hi All,

I'm desperately looking for a suit to buy in either Sydney city, parramatta or Blacktown area.

It's almost summer and we got some great deals but not sure where to go. I usually buy my suits from Bangkok tailor made but when I tried Zara slim fit size 36 USA it did fit me.
With suits I would prefer wearing it before buying. I've been eyeing The Mens Shop but they don't have a shop so don't know how that works.

My budget is around 200-250 for a two piece suit and need two or three of them.

Can you guys please help find me a bargain ?

    Conner has 149 all suits, just saw that today at chatswood. Maye they have s store near you. The quality is pretty good for cheap stuff

    Have a look at elitesuits.com I haven't personally used them yet but i have heard they have some really great quality suits. Plus they only make tailored suits so it is going to fit you perfectly!

    Thanks guys. The websites you all gave are mostly all online. I need to try them out before I buy.
    Some one was telling me Myer city store has lots of collection is that true?
    With ready made I would need alteration as I'm short 5 feet 7 and can't seem to find suits that fit me vertically but horizontally slim fit works out well.

    Topman UK have 15% off suits, combined with 20% off for students (just search this site for a code) and free delivery. So you could go to the one on the city to try some sizes, so you know what fits you best, and then buy them online. They have pants that you can choose the shorter form, unfortunately don't think they have that on the jackets. Probably just need to get the sleeves shortened

      I went to TOpman in HOngkong tried one of their $200 AUD suits and the sleeves were a bit longer.
      Can I get it altered ? Is this a big task or minor for them to alter ?
      I like the suits which has stitches all around the edges I couldn't see them in most Connor suits but I'll check DFO ..Topman and the city.

    Try TM Lewin in Hunter St Sydney, they are a UK brand and are well known for their great business shirts and suit collection. Might be at the top end of your spend, but they tailor for a good fit.

    Go to DFO at Homebush - there's a good suit place there, and also Connor Outlet. the Connor $149 suits are pretty good.

    May be more than you want to spend - they cost on average what you pay for OK quality off the shelf in Sydney, but it's all made to measure and very well made.

    I think they're back in Sydney for a measure/sell run in December if you can wait that long?

    I haven't dealt with them in Australia - bought pants and shirts from them this year when I was in HK, but recommend their work very highly.

    Ya finally got topman Zara suits which some minor alterations and they fell on my budget.

    Thanks guys for all your help. Now off to Myer for some shirts
