yeah wouldnt be surprised if they did that which is why im a bit hesitant
spoke to live chat and they did say its brand new with 12 months asus warranty but still not reassured for some reason :/

i've never ordered online with Harvey Norman before. I placed an order for one Nexus 7 at 1.26pm thinking that I'd be able to then go pick it up straight away. Received an email saying; "Thanks for your order! We'll email you as soon as your order is ready for pickup. Your tax invoice will be emailed separately". I figured- it'll probably arrive by the time I get to my HN store. NEK MINNIT (or hours now…) still have not received a follow up email to say I can pick it up! The sales guy said he couldn't do anything because he couldn't find me on the system- this was within 1 hour of purchase. Then 2.5hours later I gave them a call to ask if my order has come through and he said no but that it should come in by the end of the day. Then at 5.25pm (4 hours since purchase) having not heard from anyone I decided to give them another call, got through to admin, was transferred to someone, who then transferred me onto someone else, and after 2 minutes of being on hold, I heard someone pick up the phone, and then hung up straight away. DOUCHEBAGS. I called back again, onto admin then transferred but shock no one on the floor picked up.. DOUCHEBAGS.
Anyway I was so keen on getting my hands on this tablet today but.. no hope now. Is it normal for the online order to take so long to process? They have charged my card already so I'm just concerned that they've lost me in the system or something. Sigh
Last time when I ordered something from them and I found out that their online ordering system is only an email system.
The head office will email the branch after they received the order and depends on when they check their email.

Same here, went to pick it up without having a mail confirming its ready for collection. Told that PayPal payments take a while to clear. Having said that, I asked the salesman to keep one out please but he refused. So I just bought another one and told them I will keep it if they do their usual funny stuff again.
Salesman didn't believe me that the price was 148 :-), had to show him on my phone.

Picked one up at harvey norman Browns plains today when i slid the outer box away i found that the box inside had already been opened {seal cut open} and the cables not wrapped up like new and dirt or crap on the front of tablet. Its going back tomorrow i want new and unopened not played with. I already had told the sales woman it was for a present and i wont give someone a present thats been opened.
I took it back and they gave me unopened one.

I brought mine the day the deal was on, called 2 days later and they said they were waiting on stock. So i cracked it as it said 2 days to send online. They routed my order to another store and I received it yesterday in the mail (the receipt states Morewell, VIC but I live in western suburbs in Melbourne). Worth a try calling them and asking for an update.
Not to mention my order didn't even show in 'My Account' of the HN website.
Has anyone who purchased with the shipping option received theirs? I received the initial order confirmation but still haven't received the tax invoice that is emailed once the order actually is fully processed and ships. My card has been charged. Pretty poor customer service, especially given this is for a gift and I wouldn't have made the purchase if I'd know it would be two or three weeks (or more) to arrive…
i live down the road from one, but the day of the special, they sold out for instore pickup.
so i paid $5.95 to have it delivered. today marks 8 business days since i paid, so i called up.
customer service was really good, and the store called me back in minutes, saying it was going to be shipped out today. so i said i'd pick up instead.
went down, picked up. wasted $5.95 to pick up myself, but at least i got to check it over and confirm it was a new item.
so best to give them a call
Finally got notification that instore pickup was ready yesterday. Took a phone call last week to chase up the status.
