Hiya
I couldn't find a website on the 1st page of Google results that really summed up the customisation options for this laptop
I'm probably going to buy this laptop: http://www.horize.com/index.php/computers/horize-w230st-gami…
Either from Logical Blue One: http://www.logicalblueone.com.au/store/557-horize-w230st-cle…
or Affordable Laptops: http://www.affordablelaptops.com.au/contents/en-us/d450_meta…
There was a discussion on WP leading up to its release earlier this year, but it went quiet after that: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2121427
OK, so my question is, what is worth 'upgrading' on this laptop via the retailers' websites?
- Affordable laptops offers a low voltage processor option, which seemed popular on WP, but I don't know if it's worth the extra money
- It seems that it can hold 3 hard drives. I'm guessing a small SSD and a small HDD will suffice.
- Dual Band Wireless…is it worth it? Is it supported in public places yet? Or is it more just something I'd use at home with torrents?
- 8GB RAM…enough for most people? When would I see the ram bottleneck performance?
Thanks for your help!
IMO don't get a new laptop without SSD (at least for just the windows files)
apparently affordable laptops give extra warranty for not much extra $. i would go for it. make sure it is a haswell cpu (i5-4xxx or i7-4xxx)
8gb ram is enough for most games unless completely maxed out
i think though you could look at gigabyte p34g or the next clevo 14" (w480su?) coming out in 18/10/13
