internet geeks are really serious about their pizza I've found…don't mess with em.

  • +5

    hmm well "Lone"
my friend is the Manager of my local Dominos and off even 3.50 coupons, Yes u still make a profit sheeshz what crawled up your ass, he said it costs dominos $3.00 to make one pizza so why r u complaining
its not like you own the Franchise everything dominos gets is cheap the Cheese they buy is a big box which cost $87 and that can cook around 200-300 pizzas (cant remember how much KG is in it) you should know your still not losing anything so why the effing hell r u so stingy seriously grow up
if you dont like us using these coupons then stop your effing complaining
fucking hell go back to UWS and start cooking pizza's for them or wherever you go to.

I don't want to defend Lone, however your comment might not be 100% accurate. $3.00 might cover the ingredients. You also need to include the running costs of the store, staff wages, shop rent etc. I seriously don't think that Dominos is about to go bankrupt any time soon tho because bargain hunters might be a minority.

      • +2

the costs of ingredients make the most of the variable costs. the rest are more of less fixed costs that generate an additional cost per unit that is decreasing as the number of pizzas sold is higher. if the price is low with the use of coupons, more pizzas are sold and the additional fixed costs can be covered even at a low price. i don't know about the cost structure of lone's shop, but instead of complaining here and making people hate him and his business, maybe he could find a way to reduce his costs to be able to sell pizzas at low prices and still make a profit. or if he cannot reduce the costs, at least only be a reader of this forum. i cannot understand why would he comment on this site against its target population…but maybe he likes to be cursed…anyway, his behaviour does not do his business any good.

        • -1

Maybe lone can tell us the cost price of a pizza? :)

          • -2

@jigglycho: Food Cost is around $2.8-$3.5. Thats Just food costs. with labor and overheads its about $5.5. I dont curse people that are looking for a bargain, just people that winge about not having $4.95 vouchers and being forced into using $5.5 vouchers. Like i have said before and i will obviously have to say again, i dont care what you all do, i remove the codes from my shop and thats that. I dont have alot of time to be poking around your site to make enemys so its not my intention. Take it how ever you want i dont care.

        • +1

YES forrest, you've hit the nail right on the head: "i cannot understand why would he comment on this site against its target population … his behaviour does not do his business any good."
Perhaps his Uni' Business Studies course hasn't yet reached the chapter on Customer Relations???
Perhaps also, his overheads are unusually high due to the staff turnover. I mean if this is how he openly treats prospective customers, how must he behave towards his staff?
          \_/7

          • -2

@TeaEarlGreyHot: Customer relations.. i dont know how many times i have said this, if someone comes into my shop with a cheap code i WILL accept it, i will just remove it later and be done with it, if i lose a customer over 50c then i woulnt lose sleep over it trust me i have more things on my mind. And you are not my target "population", if you were i wouldnt be deleting the coupons that were marketed to my area, wouldnt that be silly?

      • +1

i suspect shop rent would be one of the major factors. Also the number of pizzas that actually get ordered. tbh if staff rates are the major issue, then he shouldn't have them all on at one. I know my local, 6pm when it's flat out they have like 8-10 workers. When its 11pm, just two. F**k why are we all lecturing lone how to run a business, i thought they would have tought him this in pizza hut school.

        • -1

But they haven't taught him xD

      • +2

I always find though that it is the add-ons that make the money - for example I will order pizza for the family with a voucher, but then they want coke and they want garlic bread and lava cakes and all the other crap. My point, you have a deal to get people to buy and then you make your profit on the add ons, even Lone's mexican uni degree must teach you this?

So they may make nothing on the pizza but they are making a fantastic profit on the other items

        • -2

Thank you for the complement, your 100% correct in the sides aspect, upsell our sides where the real profit is, the mark up on coke is huge! garlic bread is higher.. Im glad to see you can justify me hearing your story about your wisdom, again i dont care, ive repeated myself so many times its getting monotonous.I know, at the end of the day were getting your money, but i dont want really cheap coupons on my food theo % (i thought that was a fairly simple principle), doenst matter anyway, Head office has been hearing the same complaints form alot of other franchiees across Australia, They are going to be narrowing them down and isolating them to individual shops/markets. Anyway, peace out ^^

    Indeed.

the worst thing I find about pizzas these days is the $2.50 or so add on for chicken pizzas. I mean, $2.50 for about say 75-100g of chicken (if not less). This equates to about $25-$33/kg. You can get chicken breast etc at supermarket/butcher for approx $8/kg retail, so I am sure Pizza stores get it quite cheaper.
What a great markup. Just like garlic bread, extras etc.

    • -1

They're not a charity, let them make a dollar or two on chicken (or you can always just get it for free by doing the old switch a roo.)

Lone is crying about the rare $3.50 pizza? LOL. How about the standard rip-off price of $8.95?…don't hear him bitching about that one.
Mr Lonely bought a Dominos franchise; it's Dominos that instituted the coupon code…it's Dominos that's fully aware of how it's utilized…it's Dominos that continues on in this policy.
Phony Lone, take out a real loan, and start your own independent business, and stop whinging about what your corporate bosses are doing; corporations are the new root of all evil…and if you dont like it, get rooted!

  • THE CODE WORKS…for delivery only

    Just use 073036

Isn't a very good deal though.

I guess that's why they took it down: it was meant to only be for delivery.

  • And found another code:

    073050

  • The two above deals are only good if you want to put extra toppings, get a big range pizza or get one of those special crusts or triple cheese.

americancanberran get some real life experience, get out of your mums garage and stop trash talking people who work to pay for there education, get off the drugs and sort your shit out. im sick of idiots talking crap. sigh, I'm having a massive cry… apparently ?

    • +4

      yes. yes you are.

Perhaps you are bitter that you bought into Dominos. Pizza hut seems more up your alley. Less discounts. Or maybe a boutique pizza shop that charges whatever you decide. But you gotta live with your decisions mate, and Dominos offer cheap pizzas. Get over it.

    • +3

Don't think you need to start accusing people of taking drugs with no proof.
Maybe you need to stop talking trash.

  • I am not sure how many people around here know the cost of the pizza, let me show you :
    Each $1 will be divided by;

    10% for the GST
    12% for the Royalty
    30% for the Food
    26% for the Labour

To say as a "rip-off", I have no idea how $8.95 can rip you off with the food cost around 2.8 - 3.5
I have seen too many cheap customers in my shop, to be honest I gave them refund/replacement as
I can but I would stop service them since then. Being cheap is okay but don't cry out for more.

For your information, normally a shop will have around 52-57 FLM ( Lone you know I am not joking )
Without the GST, Royalty and Fixed Cost. Everything are up but pizza in the last 10 years.

You can join your local Domino's and be a delivery driver so you can have your FREE pizza!
But don't cry when you see all those asian in the shop, they paid cheap and no more local there.
