Adelaide: a 69 gram size Magnum, in a nice box... just 28 cents.

90

I walked past one of Adelaide's nicer Community Food SA store fronts, late on Friday arvo. As I walked in, I heard someone comment that the Magnum they were holding was only 28 cents, in a one-in-the-box package, that would impress a date. ;-)

I got a few just before their (3:30 pm) closing time, but there were maybe 25 left in the freezer, after I got mine.

The store serves the needs of low-income folks, so I don't want to encourage anyone to cleam'em out… But if you're closeby on Tuesday am, you should be right to get one or two.

Store open Tue - Fri, 9 am - 3:30 pm.

Location: Just N of Helps Cross intersection of Main N Road & Pt Wakefield Rd, not far from Hungry Jack's:

They're in the middle of the small row of shops where JayCar, Rivers & (on the Port Wakefield end) a [Yamaha?] motorcycle dealership is adjacent to.

If you see any other deals, that are in good supply, maybe let us all know. Anyone can shop there.

When I asked about past deals, I was told they had 600 ml of Pura -white- milk for 20 cent, around 9 Sep… They don't always have lots of each deal product, but they apparently had lots of that milk.

If you're in a company that has overstocks or food items or other smaller household goods, they might be a good place to ring & offer your excess to. They benefit a lot of oldies on pensions, so it won't go to waste.

Cheap dates and cheap magnums make for expensive terminations.

Good on them! The food pantries up here I'm tempted to burn them down (never would though). Because they charge MORE than Woolworths/Coles for the food!

    • You have to remember that it's all about volume as well. If the major's can sell tens of thousands of products daily then it's a lot easier to keep the lights on and in fairness Coles/Woolies have gotten cheaper with their home brand/store brand choices that are often good quality.

Completely get where your coming from though and it sounds like they need to strike up better deals with the suppliers and sell more misprint seconds rather then brand name top dollar items.
