Returning faulty 3DS to Nintendo Melbourne?

Hi all,

The 3ds I bought from Amazon UK needs to be repaired as it the volume slider is faulty (stuck at full volume). My question is, will nintendo melbourne still accept and repair it under manufacturer warranty if it was purchased overseas? If so, how long of a turnaround should I be expecting?

Nintendo - Legal - Nintendo Products purchased out of Australia

Genuine Nintendo products purchased overseas will not always operate satisfactorily in Australia. This is primarily because the video standard or electronic signal that is recorded on video games on some overseas countries (particularly the Americas) is different to that which applies in Australia. Products purchased overseas are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty and statutory warranties which apply to Nintendo products purchased in Australia.

You should have purchased a $100 3DS at DSE in May, son!

      Guessing he got an XL

      • Yep, I jumped on the $188 NSMB2 combo they had a while back.

Thanks for the input fellas. I actually managed to fix the slider by applying a little bit of force to it. It's a shame about the warranty though, hopefully I won't be needing it anytime soon.

You should be able to send it back to amazon , if anything happens in the future. I think they pay for postage
