I spent all morning from 6 am till I went out at 1130 ish without an internet connection. I was without voip and could only ring local numbers which included trying to ring my internet provider Spintel on a number that was constantly engaged. I received a txt message from Spintel mid morning to advise of the problem and then an email at 4:15 pm to advise the service was up and running again. My question is would you complain OR do I just look for another internet provider?
Residential broadband connection with next to zero Service-level Agreement and uptime guarantee… I'll too say just move on.
My Internet was cut continuously for 72 hours last month (and been on and off for the entire week) because someone did some digging 3 blocks away. Didn't get any compensation from my ISP nor Telstra who are responsible for the copper. So I went and looked up on some business grade ADSL products with SLA. Checked the price, nah, I think I'll continue paying my $50/month residential broadband connection.
I don't think I'd even bother complaining: outages happen all the time. But that's just me.
you should sue for punative damages and pain and suffering
A little downtime / planned outage is normal.
Go look on the WP forums… and you'll see a lot of people complaining of all sorts of issues, many of those are way worse than yours.
seemed like a few providers had a problems yesterday
on tpg and from tuesday was on and off, and tuesday from about 11pm to a wednesday 11am, seemed worse
had some problems, causing me to stay up from 11pm to 11am sorting things out
but it happens
also appears that telstra was doing some "maintenance", "international… something something"
still slightly sleep deprived
I had no probs yesterday. Then again, I'm with internode
I would say that all providers will have periods of outages, so just move on. If it's a recurring issue, by all means, complain.
