Lomondo Extra Virgin Olive Oil is grown on the rich alluvial soils of the Cudgegong River just outside of Mudgee in New South Wales. Lomondo's 2013 early harvest extra virgin olive oil is our best offering yet and has just claimed a silver medal at the first show of the year. The dry conditions around Mudgee leading up to harvest have allowed us to produce magnificent oil, with a fruity, grassy start followed by a bold peppery finish.

We also offer FREE delivery.

"It’s a lovely oil and I understand why you are proud of it." Maggie Beer - Acclaimed Chef and lover of Olive Oil.

3 litres of olive oil for $84 is certainly not a bargain.

I pay about $25-$30 for 4 litres of the some of the best extra virgin olive oil from my local deli…

Do you have a price for that bottled in 500ml bottles for anything approaching a fair comparison?

Australia has a reputation for producing some very good olive oils, for what it's worth.

Thanks! I love this extra virgin olive oil! The stuff that's cheaper has a tarty taste and I'm convinced it's not a true extra virgin olive oil.

People who may think this is pricy, please go look at the prices of true extra virgin olive oil in Italy. It's about $30 a litre.

    • The stuff that's cheaper has a tarty taste and I'm convinced it's not a true extra virgin olive oil.

Really? Have you tasted the ones I'm referring to?

I'm not talking about that Moro rubbish they sell in supermarkets.

They've been making Olive Oil in the southern Mediterranean for about 4,500 years. I'm pretty sure they've worked out how to make a good one by now… Go down to your local continental deli and try one of the olive oils from Crete… Much better than the Spanish and Italian ones IMHO…

      It's about $30 a litre.

You need to stop buying it from David Jones then… The best extra virgin olive oils are around $30 for 4 litres at delis, the cheaper oils are around $20 for 4 litres.

      • I'm talking about going to Italy and buying it. You can't buy it there for so cheap, then how can you buy it here for less? Import costs + taxes should make it a LOT more.

I do most of my shopping at a deli, I'm well aware that they have many cheap oils and yes I have tried plenty of them, none had the taste I am accustomed to.

I'm Croatian and I've sampled MANY olive oils and for the best taste the price is always quite high.

I went back to the home country recently and it was around $20 a litre for average oil and $30 for good oil. No matter where you went. So if the countries which produce it sell it for so much why is it so cheap here?

then how can you buy it here for less?

Probably because of the European economy… 5 years ago, it used to cost around $40-$50 for 4 litres, now it's under $30.
My local deli has about a dozen brands of the best extra virgin oils from Crete and Kalamata with various acidity levels for those who don't like it too peppery…

I see you are from brisbane, maybe you don't get the volumes up there to get good prices???

        • I've had those kinds of prices I just never found them that great. A few were okay and in general it's what I buy as I can't justify the price often enough lol.

  • I agree, your probably not going to win many fans here, even if your oil is exceptional. There is just too much competition out there for an "ozbargain" :(

But i wish you the best, i love supporting local where i can.
