We live in the South West of WA, and have just received a letter from our insurance company, stating that as we live in an area that may have exposure to bush fires, our house insurance is being cancelled. I'm interested in what other people have done, in the same circumstances. I'm thinking about the floods in Queensland, fires in Victoria, fires in Margaret River, and other things. But the way there has never been a fire in our town.

Ask your neighbours who they are insured with? Surely someone would be willing to insure houses in the area, even if it is at an increased premium.
