West Coast NZ South Island - Data Coverage

Can anyone comment on the mobile coverage along the west coast of the South Island of NZ?

I believe 2degrees is the best provider in NZ, but I'm worried about their coverage once you get away from a major city.

We plan to drive from Queenstown, up the West coast to Nelson, if that gives anyone a better idea of the region I'm specifically interested in.
