  • Great price!

  • +1

Good price. Works out at roughly $7.53 delivered per title.

  • Does it include the 3d versions of the films?

    • +1

No idea on the answer to this question but I have to say I can't stand the thought of my daughter watching movies in 3d on a regular basis.

Not nearly as bad if you've got a passive 3d setup as opposed to active 3D but the thought of the strain on a child's eye everytime they watch a movie seems to be asking for eye troubles down the road.

Sorry for the rant that doesn't answer your question, it just annoys me how much 3d is thrown in everyone's face now.

      • +1

There's no strain that I notice on my actives.

        How old is your daughter?

        • +1

4 years old, I look at it as risk/reward and watching a movie in 3d isn't worth even the slightest risk of eye problems. Don't get me wrong I'm not one of those paranoid parent that doesn't let his kid do anything just not a fan of this.

        • That's fair. It wasn't designed for under 7s. Even the 3DS which doesn't require glasses.

But when they include the 3D disc, it's always on a separate disc to the 2D movie, so you'd still be able to watch it in 2D.

      • +3

I don't want 3D for current systems (I haven't got a 3D screen), I just want 3D so that I don't need to buy all movies again when proper 3D devices start rolling out for the general public.

        • They will probably need a new encoding format so they can re-release it yet again :P

      • +1

Usually you get the 2D version with the 3D. Having the 3D would be an extra bonus in this case, as you'll get a choice whether you want to watch it in 2D or 3D.

But since there's no mention of 3D in this though, I would assume it's 2D only.

I would not allow a 4 year old to watch things in 3D, but maybe I'm just being paranoid. I don't think there's been much research into whether there is long term detrimental effects on young children.

  • Very tempting. Is this region free?

    • Its bluray, so region 2 would work here…

      • +1

        Region B actually

  • -1

It bothers me seeing that they're doing this now before the second Nemo film comes out.

    • +9

If they waited till the release of an in-development film before releasing a collection, they would never release anything.

      • +2

Sage might be thinking Monsters University is the very last movie Pixar will create……

so this is the FULL collection of Pixar movies and will keep it this way…..forever! :P

      • I didn't realize how far off the movie is. 2015? I thought we saw trailers last year.

        • Announced Apr 2, 2013 by Ellen who stars as Dory

    • There's a second Nemo?!!!
      Excitement!!!!

  • Toy Story… YAY !

  • +5

I don't think I've ever bought a Pixar movie with kids in mind… I've always got them for myself!!!

  • Thanks skinny for skinny price

Has anyone gotten the code to work? Trying to add the discount gives me:

    Pixar Box Set (Blu-Ray)
    * Discount Code 'DVD-BASE' not valid for email address.

    • Just checked and it still works (my e-mail does not have a .au if that helps)

      • it doesn't work for me too

  • I got it anyway. Still a decent price. But it looks like the code is linked to your email address. Maybe from a previous purchase.

    • Sorry it's not still a decent price without that coupon you got majorly ripped off i suggest canceling that pre-order from Base and buying it from Amazon UK for $140 delivered. Actually at the moment according to my cart checkout it's currently more like $136 AUD delivered so it must have went down a few dollars since that thread was made. Through the checkout it reads as £76.04 + £3.58 delivery = Order Total: £79.62

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/116427

This is what happens when you don't shop around. I worked out at that £89.99 from Base it's about $154 and that's without international shipping. Ripped off

      • Except you didn't read the thread title or comments - the op was posting because he thought it was $128

        • +1

I was not talking about the OP the comment was for Kymatica who ordered it at full price (without any discount coupon) from base.com. Just don't like people ripping themselves off when there's still a much better deal around than what he paid since this Base deal fell through (Amazon UK deal is happening) but it's up to them. I pointed him to the current best deal (from Amazon UK) that's now currently happening.

        • Gday holly do you think I should go for the logitech G510 or should I stick with my razer blackwidow ultimate?

        • Indeed. Sorry, mobile browsing got the better of me and it was me that didnt follow the page properly.

      • I don't think you quite understand maths, hollykryten.

It's $139AUD delivered (to me) from Base. Hardly a major rip off.

        • Wow sorry how did you get it that cheap?.

        • The price seems to have gone up again.
At the time I purchased it, it was only around £70, plus postage.

        • Oh yeah. That price now is the ripoff price that i was talking about. You were lucky you got your order in before it hiked to this price.

        • Yeah, I don't think I would have bought it at the price it is now.

      • I hope you entered the DVD-BASE coupon code at checkout after you login to your account. If you do, it works to $128. Still works for me at 7am on 18th Sep (74.48 pounds in total)

        • +1

The people here having been telling you that code is tied to your own email address and wasn't working for any body else?. No one else here could get that $128 price. I guess you haven't been listening. This whole thread is basically pointless.

        • +1

As Hollykryten stated, the code is only valid for your email address (Or others that have been offered the promo). It's not open to everyone.
