8GB usb keys can be had from local computer stores for the same price and without the BS dealsdirect has when a product is faulty or out of stock. DD is fine when everything it going perfect but there a *@#$$ of a company to deal with when it goes wrong.

  • Kingston Travelers have poor transfer rate. I cant watch avi's through them.

I've never had problems with Deals Direct. When I did have to return something the process was painless and efficient.

Bought two of these drives from ShoppingSquare (a bit cheaper) and they seem to be working fine. I use them for back up and transferring files. I did notice that one of my students had a drive similar to this where the slider was not locking so that the button had to be held while inserting into the USB port. I suspect that these drives are not meant to be treated roughly.

To everybody that complains that a deal is no good because they can do better at the local shop: that may be true if you live in the city or pass the shop regularly. The nearest reasonably priced computer shop is a 10 minute drive out of my way - if that shop does not stock the item then another 10 minutes drive to the next. Factor in fuel costs and time then for me an online deal can be a bargain even if it appears to be more expensive.

  • Price is not that good really. This deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/11047 had the later model 8GB Data Traveller 120 for $19 delivered.

As above, the deal is hardly bargainesque: http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=8g+usb+kingstonā€¦
