Hi techno-people of OB!
I have been travelling around Asia with my ASUS EeePC 1015PEM and am home for a bit to re-group before setting off again. The laptop is great but I think the built-in obsolescence of the battery as well as plugging into dozens of shonky Asian power outlets has taken its toll. I need a new battery for this lap-top and am a bit overwhelmed by how many places come up when I googled. Not sure which is reputable/cheapest etc. I go away again mid-Oct so have a bit of time for delivery etc.
Should I get an original ASUS battery or is a rip-off version just as good?
I also need to know a it more about taking care of my battery eg is a surge protector a good idea or just one more electronic thing to carry (I travel very light)? Should I really only be using the battery when I don't have power and take the battery out when I'm using power?
Does taking care of the above make much difference?
The questions sound silly, but I really don't know. Any info is good….thanks in advance.
