      16:9 is usually 1920x1080 which is Full HD TV resolution.
      
      16:10 is 1920x1200
      
      16:10 is actually a bigger screen vertically with more pixels but not necessarily higher resolution. Much better for applications and spreadsheets etc.
      
      There are lots of cheap and nasty 16:9 screen with TN panels with very poor viewing angles. Not so many bad 16:10 screens with most being higher quality.

How do the samsung 3 and 7 series monitors compare? I'm looking to get one for my notebook.
