JB Hi-Fi 'Exclusive Vouchers' - well timed offer or data mined?

Out of interest - I wonder how targeted these emails are?

My scenario:

Saturday I did a walkthrough JB Hifi looking at Soundbars. Have been interested in one for some time as they suit my rented apartment perfectly and lack of cabinet space for a receiver.

I did some online research Saturday arvo/Sunday (Google) & a bit this morning at work (Bing) - looking at soundbars. Google at home I'm logged into chrome, but Bing is anonymous.

Anyhoo, at midday today - a 20% off soundbars email from JB lands in my inbox.

Any chance this was targeted from what I've been searching for, or just a complete coincidence?

    I got Soundbars offer today. I don't even know what they are, let alone ever having googled it. So, it's a coincidence. If it was data mined they would send me a 20% off Blu Ray - hint hint hint JB.

    I got the same offer despite never having had any interest in sound bars. I'd say it is pure coincidence. I've also had no interest in buying or looking at TVs for a couple of years and have had a few offers for them also come in from JB.

    I've had an email almost everyday from JB for about 2 weeks now — with random offers. I'm also hanging out for the 20% off blu ray voucher ;-)

    Got the same voucher too, does a bartender come bundled with a sound bar, or do they cost extra?

    Ah sweet. Pretty happy that it was just a lucky co-incidence and I wasnt being tracked to the degree I thought I was when the offer showed up literally when I was still researching.

    Picked up the JBL 400 Soundbar for $700… pretty happy given this was the model I was looking at purchasing anyway. Thanks JB!
