Olympus E-PM2 - worth $500?

Hello friends,

I was looking at buying camera and saw Olympus E-PM2 in Myer catalogue with price tag of $499.

Does this camera worth $499 or better i go with SLR/DSLR ? I m not much into photography and only use camera occassionally for family trip or get-to-gather.
