I was tempted… but I guess the decision is no longer in my hands… good deal though.

    • +3

I was on here last night when it was posted… But was ummming and aaaarghing whether I realy want one! Likewise, I don't have to worry about it now!!!

  • thanks OP - nabbed 2 this morning….7am

  • wish to buy one off someone who bought it but doesn't really need it, please pm thanks

  • Argh how I regret hesitating when I seen this in the morning! I talked myself out of it with crazy talk like 'I don't even own a laptop' and 'surely it's too big'.

Like Timsin67, if anyone regrets buying a couple extra send me a pm and I would be happy to take one off your hands :)

    Well played Ozbargain. Well played.

    • +3

If you don't have a laptop, you're probably better off without this pack! I was debating getting one because it was great value, and it is a great pack with lots of little storage nooks. But it's not going to be the best thing if you want it to put in shoes, clothes, bigger things, etc!

  • Empty page? I'd much rather a page that says 'out of stock' rather than nothing. I have a bad feeling about this…

  • Would this be available in store?

    • Possibly available in store but not at $25.

  • Anyone received an email order confirmation?

    • Yeah confirmation email comes from Officemax.

  • OfficeMax® would like to thank you for your order. You will find listed below the details of the estimated shipments that you will receive your order in.

Please be aware that you will be charged for your order on dispatch of goods. If your order is scheduled to be delivered in more than one shipment, the charge will also be split.

    • I didn't receive that email yet lachlan1. Here's hoping Officemax can fulfill most orders.

  • Thanks heaps for sharing this deal - grabbed one before they sold out……one thing I have learnt from OZbargain is grab the bargain ASAP if you think it is a bargain…..cheers heaps to the poster of this bargain

grab the bargain ASAP if you think it is a bargain…..

Even if you don't really need one!!! ;)

Hi ozbargainers, I really need one but missed the deal. If you decide not need it, let me know I will throw in another $10. Melb CBD.
Look my sad bag after a motorbike accident.. http://postimg.org/image/6vi9re66j/

  • I really shouldn't neglect ozbargain at night. Too bad I missed out. This is a bargain.

  • +1

The bag seems too big for my needs. So I bought the Swift for $25 from umart.

    • cheers, was looking for a deal in this model.

    • I have swift as well. The quality is good, but material at the bottom wears after few months.
Same will be with this bag as well (I saw some dude in train today with same issue). But they are fine for 1-1.5 years or usage.

      • +1

Hmm that's a bit disappointing. I suppose that lifetime warranty will come in handy.

        • +2

I think lifetime warranty is for manufacturing defects and it is normal wear of the bag which wont be covered.

      • 1-1.5 years as a regular traveller is still pretty decent for a $100 bag that's not leather.

  • +1

Have a feeling this is pricing error and won't be honoured. Anyway, I bagged one at 130 am, no email so far but an authorization was taken from my credit card. BTW I really did need a bag, my last one has a broken zip.

    • -3

yes, the way they took the site down in the morning is not a good sign.
obviously they dont have live stock count system. very bad.

its $79-100 on ebay so i think alot people try to get some profit with buying more than one… hehe

      • +11

        That "hehe" made me uncomfortable..

  • Please, let us know when someone receives it :)
The item can't be tracked so I'm a little worried

  • -1

    Source from inside OfficeMax:

They found this was a pricing error, now they trying to stop shipping these.

For those who successfully brought this, your item may arrive or may never arrive. But if you press your consumer right hard, I believe they have to commit the order and ship to you.

    Good luck.

    • +2

I called them yesterday and staff said, it is not a pricing error and they will ship these.
      So who to trust?

    • But if you press your consumer right hard, I believe they have to commit the order and ship to you.

Unfortunately you can't force them to sell you one. There's a little thing that most companies use which you'll find written into most sites, price lists, etc. in some form or other! It's E&OE, and it means Errors & Omissions Excepted. It's basically a disclaimer stating that the information in a document (including price lists/specials etc.) is not necessarily accurate. I use this all the time myself!

      • +2

At the same time, if they've removed the money from your credit card, the acceptance of sale has begun, so they can't change their mind..

That's why a lot of places now manually process payments, as automated payments can cause s$*t like this to occur.

        • It's actually very easy to reverse a credit card transaction. And if in this case it was simply a pricing error and/or stock issue, then they'd have no trouble conveying that to any relevent authority to justify the no supply and credit!
For everyone here, I hope it's not the case though and they all come through!!!

    • +3

Just called them 2 minutes ago. They said that all is OK and I'll receive my item in 7 business days (approx. on 13th of September)

      • Great to hear that!

      • Woohoo!

      • That's what I got told on Friday. They source them from Everki, don't have stock themselves. All good I guess?

        • And all good it is. Got my bag.

      • +1

Just called, a lady said 10 days to wait.
And it will not have confirmation when sent, or any tracking number.
Good luck, my bag, and every one.

        • 10 actual days or 10 business days?

    • If the other comments are true, wonder where Vienta's source from inside Officemax is actually coming from?

      • +1

From under the billy goats bridge

        • Definitely not from a dictionary!

    • Don't know why you're being negged.

I also had someone at Officemax confirm a RRP pricing error and that they had -700 in their inventory.

Their supplier also only has about 500 in stock.

      Good luck everybody.

      • Wow, they had a stock count of -700 stock? That's some epic inventory fail right there…

  • So what's the lesson learnt here…

If it is too good to be true, it surely is.

    • +9

Will you be learning a lesson if we manage to get the item?

      • Guess so.

        • http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/73273 Was too good to be true ;)

        • http//www.ozbargain.com.au/node/73273 Was too good to be true ;)

But didn't people get these? or at least an alternative!

        • Have you forgotten three Harvey Norman debacle.

        • +1

Yeah everyone got it, or a better model, some even got 2 or more!

And it was "too good to be true" except it was true.

        • Have you forgotten three Harvey Norman debacle.

Yes! I've tried to block anything Hardly Normal from my memory!
Now I'm gonna have to go back to my therapist!!! ;)

  • Guess thats what happens when some people try ordering 15 at once.

  • +4

Risk is simply part of being an OzBargainer - you win some you lose some where 'losing' is simply getting your money refunded on your card and no deal.

Always happy to risk it with top level retailers (Myer/DJ/JB/DSE/AusPost/etc)

    • +1

Well FYI my card hasn't been debited yet, nor have I received an order confirmation, so I am speculating that my order will not be fulfilled. Not the end of the world for me, was ideal timing for me though.

I will continue hunting for a new backpack as my current Kathmandu bag (which is over 10 years old) just developed a hole at the bottom. Might Swift over to Umart ;)

      • Was ideal timing for me too, as I'm going to the UK next month and this bag looked perfect to take my laptop and other crap with me.. But I never received this confirmation email that many got. Oh well. Next time..

        • Yeah, I'm going on a trip soon and this bag looks the goods! I did get a confirmation email, but no auth on my CC yet.

      • My CC was charged the same day.

  • +1

    I just got my bag!

  • +1

My bag was just delivered, and its awesome :) Cheers OP for posting the deal!

    • The Authorisation on my card got removed…and I didn't get charged for it. Did this happen to anyone else?

      • I just checked my account, the transaction was pending since that night and it has disappeared now. Not sure if this means my order has been cancelled or I got the bag like you. Will go home and confirm if I got the bag.

        • Nothing today :(

  • +1

    got my 2………

the mrs "what the hell ya bought this time ?"

    • +1

"Honey, I bought a backpack for us to go on holidays with, but only if you're good to me!"

  • Got mine too!!! Thanks for posting this deal!! :-)

  • Looks like I won't be getting mine; card authorisation got removed :(. Time to look for another bag.

    • +1

I wouldn't be overly concerned yet. Authorisations expire if they're not drawn down within a certain period of time.

  • +4

Just got my bags too. Funny how auspost advertise it but delivered by couriers please.

    • Exactly! Just got mine too. Was hurrying to leave, didn't even give it a good look yet. Can't wait to Get home :D

    • +1

Yeah.. i thought that was hilarious as well.. That said, it looks like its come straight from the distys, MMT, therefore auspost/officemax would be out of the loop as MMT would have a contract rate with their own couriers..

      • Got mine too. I think Auspost made a big loss on this product - definitely someone at OfficeMax would have had a stern lecture/possible job-loss from this. The bag is excellent quality.

        • +1

I hope auspost make a loss.. that way, I can feel somewhat vindicated by their overpriced postage..

Karma is a bitch, auspost :)

    • Great to hear! When did you put your order in?

      • Tue, Sep 3, 2013 at 11:47 PM

I was actually undecided about it coz I'm broke and figured it'd be a pricing error instead.. but, am so glad I jumped onboard.. as the quality is awesome.. I love that theres a felt lined laptop slot and an ipad one too.. and its big enough to hold a lot of stuff.. plus the zips are heavy duty.. I've bought 3 backpacks in the last couple of months and they've all broken within a few weeks because of crappy cheap zips..

        • OK.. I received my confirmation email on Wed 12.30am, so I ordered maybe 40 mins after you. Hope I get it!

      • I placed the order the night the deal was published.

    • got mine this morning too, and it is not delivered by AusPost

  • I've got an email confirmation from OfficeMax on 4 Sept but when I checked my bank statement; somehow the authorization disappear and no transaction found . Does this mean they cancelled my order?

  • My credit card entry for the purchase is gone now from the statement. Not sure what happened.
To people who had their bags, do you still have the amount in your statement?

    • same with me mate

      • I passed the ShoppingExpress yesterday's deal for the bag and other goodies as bought this bag. Lets wait and see.

  • just received today. For those who missed last time, same bag available for $54 for pick up from landmark store at melbourne.

    http://www.lmc.com.au/products/Notebook_Accessories/Everki/5…

  • Just got mine, people said they weren't going to deliver

Edit: got spare one that family member doesn't want now. Pm I will give to you for same price.

  • I've just received it as well (Perth)! Interesting that it's TOLL delivery. :)

  • Bag delivered this afternoon :). Great bag for this price.

  • did u guys get an email confirmation that the bags were shipped?

    im getting bag envy :)

  • Add me to the list of people who have had their payment authorisation disappear from their card. Doubt I'll be receiving my bag. The lack of communication from Auspost/Officemax is disappointing though.

  • Bah got a missed delivery notice in my mailbox from Toll. I'm guessing it's the bag! Funny, I still don't see the debit from my CC…

  • got mine, ordered on 3 sep night

  • Got mine this morning in WA! Thanks for the post!

  • Just got mine in Perth as well, sent through TOLL which I thought was ironic! Thanks so much for letting me know about this deal! :)

  • yeah charge from my card disappeared too. no notification from OfficeMax regarding order cancellation.

  • Got my 2 bags, from Melbourne, ordered 7:30am 03/09 (:

  • Got mine.

  • Mine arrived today as well :) In one hell of a massive box..

  • I just received the tax invoice but the authorisation has dissapeared on my account. Have to check post if it arrived

  • Charge on my credit card disappeared as well. Though I did receive an order confirmation. Emailing them gives me an unable to be delivered error, might have to call them I guess!
