Australia's First Reverse Cycle Solar PV-Inverter Air Conditioner 3.5kW -$1375

04

Hey guys, I know the guys that sell this solar air con and I have bought one.

I’m posting this deal for the people that people love to use their air conditioners a lot in the summer, they can really benefit from this because of its awesome energy efficiency.

I do know the china company that makes this "solar air" air con makes 1 of 3 air conditioners, that being said they also make one of Australia's leading brand in air conditioners. I have one and its VERY quiet and cools my room with no problems which is 7 x 5 meters with 4 computers in the room and 2 TV's.

If you have any legitimate questions I will try to answer them to the best of my ability but feel free to call them if you are interested have any sceptical questions.

Shouldn't you , yannow tell us what the deal is here? How much am I saving compared to the competition?

This is just an ad, sorry.

    • thank you for your question, if you click on the link you can see a graph with the wattage of a traditional air con and one with the solar. rather then spending around $9 a day you on spend 10 cents from 12 hours use.

      • 4 x 250w panels will produce approx 5kWh per day in Australia. The A/C unit consumes 3.5kw/h. You will not be able to run this for 12 hours on the power the panels provide. This is misleading.

  • Installation seems expensive at 1800+ for back to back installation.

    • yes this seems a little confusing, the installation includes 4 250W panels also

    Better of posting here
    www.ozadvertising.com.au

  • $3199 for the unit plus panels. Otherwise it looks just to be an aircon unit?
Also, unless the solar output is equal to the A/C usage in places with nett metering (e.g. NSW) this will end up costing much more.
As the 4 panels are 250w you will be able to run the unit for 90mins a day on the power they produce. This is deceptive marketing.

  • So many errors on that page.
I stopped when the graph shows 3kw cost of 'equivalent' cooling
Then the table shows the unit consumes 1kw
Then the value is poor. A 3.5kw reverse cycle no name unit for $1375 without solar panels! Very expensive.
    Then $1800 for installation!! Wow.

i know it seems a little confusing but the installation comes with 4 250w panels.

remember this isnt just an air con, its a solar air con

      • This comparison seems misleading nevertheless, as a "traditional" 3.5kW AC isn't going to consume 3kW but closer to 1kW.

        1kW * 12 hours @ $0.25 kWh = $3

Even that's a bit of a stretch as it wouldn't be typical for the AC to run at full capacity for 12 hours a day.

  • and the website has died…

  • hey, $3199 for the unit, panels and installation. the air con unit energy efficiency is better then a normal air con as it runs from 300 - 600 watts without the solar panels.

    • Well, which is it? if the unit runs 600w then 12 hours consumes 5kwh. Or about $1.25 worth of power. Or it consumes more and uses $9 worth?

Aside from all the above (which point out enough flaws on their own), how is this Australia's First Reverse Cycle Solar PV-Inverter Air Conditioner? These have been available from reputable Solar PV companies for a number of years now (and I've had quotes on similar units for less).
