  • What is a crystal cast pack? Thanks.

It's most likely the clear hard plastic case fort he WiiU gamepad.

      • FYI, as the premium version will come with a gamepad charging dock and a normal dock. If you're going to use the hard plastic case you may not hold your gamepad on both docks but you still can charge your gamepad with the mini USB cable plug into the gamepad directly.

        Good price anyway. :)

        • It's not actually a mini USB cable, its the same as a 3DS/DSi charger.

  • Huge discount………Mostly when newer consoles go down like this it is a new low price.

Great price but I'd probably wait for the Zelda bundle.

Australia's not receiving the official Zelda bundle

      • I know. Can import from Game.co.uk or possibly Amazon UK. It's universal.

Wii u is region locked, but any game from a PAL territory will work fine

        • I'm talking about the adapter.

          Clearly you were….. golf clap

  • Any word on the Wii Basic being on sale too?

The problem with announcing a price drop is that, unless you make it effective immediately, you're basically telling consumers not to buy the product until the price drop happens. In the US the price is only dropping on September 20th, so Nintendo have guaranteed that they won't sell any Wii Us until then.

We're getting the old 'no current plans' story for our price drop which, in Nintendo-ese, means it is coming, but there's no date for it yet. In other words, don't buy a Wii U until they announce the date. Seriously, either Nintendo's going to drop the price before the new consoles come out, or they've just given up on Australia and we'll see retailers kicking Wii Us out the door for $99 pretty soon. Either way it's best to wait.

    • You would rather they say nothing and just let the price drop show up at retailers giving their customers no warning and anyone who brought one get mad at Nintendo for doing an under the radar price drop?

Swing and round-abouts…. Sept 20th is the last weekends of this Quarter, which means boot sales over the whole quarter while not being too far from also propping up the next quarter for the wave of new orders coming into to re-plenish the stock taken from this price drop.

Fact is prices will well and truly always come down, point is how long are you willing to wait to get a good price?

I assure you it will be at least another 12-24 months before the Wii U hits the $99 point or anywhere close to it…

Its going to drop even more. Wii U isn't selling well.

Xbox one and Ps4 are coming soon. Should until then to decide what to buy

Absolutely true, but neither is Vita.

The real question is how many units can Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World and Call of Duty shift in the last month of 2013.

      • Don't forget Zelda Wind Waker HD!!!

  • Would this be in-store only, or be able to buy off their website?
Trying to click on the link and then "Buy Now" gives me a 404 error :s

So tempted with this. But will resist and wait a bit longer to see if prices change closer to the release of the PS4 and Xbox One… Maybe.

I thinks its also safe to assume the shelf space usually allotted to both 3DS and Wii U will also have to share with the 2DS.
