At the outset I'd like to clarify this is only an option if you have access to a uk address either through friends/relatives/freight forwarding service.
Three uk announced this week their new feel at home tariff policy which allows all their tariff minutes, texts and data to be used in 7 countries including Australia for free. This got heated to over 4000 degrees on hotukdeals ( http://m.hotukdeals.com/deals/three-like-home-free-roaming-a… )
There is no reason why Australians who can get hold of a three sim shouldn't be able to get unlimited data and calls to uk numbers from Australia. There is a pay as you go option, with unlimited data for £15 a month.
You would need to order either a prepaid, or if you can pass a uk credit check (which is possible for many uk expats living here), a contract sim to a uk address and have it forwarded to Australia by someone. The inclusive calls and texts would be to uk numbers, Australian numbers would cost.
Apologies if people feel this is a waste of time due to not bejng directly available here. Are there any Australian tariffs with truly unlimited data?
