On the website it says not available for delivery to Australia but you have to send an email enquiry for a quote and then they will get back to you in a couple of days. The price is £350, same as Amazon UK but you get a 20% VAT refund and the postage cost is £20, so £311 delivered.
For those not familiar John Lewis is a David Jones type department store in the UK that has been around forever.

Lot of money, seems it's not even permanent?
Er.. read the whole post please
You need the full site not mobile site
On the right hand side, below where it says not available for delivery to Australia, click on the 'how we may still be able to help you' and you will come to a form to fill in to make an enquiry. It is a lot of money I was just pointing out that if you were going to buy it from shavershop anyway you have other options
thanks , keen to get one if aud goes strong
Are these dangerous? Heard many stories about people being permanently scarred after treatments done by unqualified persons, surely doing it yourself at home with no training would be dangerous?
I could be wrong!I'd assume the consumer products wouldn't be able to do any damage.
i posted a plus for the deal but the product itself looks a bit dangerous to me.
probably i just do not know how it works and my behaviour is simipar to a 19th century farmer who saw a steam engine for the fist time.Dunno. I worry that 50 years from now we'll all be saying "zapping your skin to destroy hair folicles was a dumb idea, OBVIOUSLY it was going to cause skin cancer"
wife got this,
as an end user ;) highly recommended
when we bought this, it has 60days fullly refund guarantee promotion (otherwise we would not buy this).
it is not as strong as the permanent one. it does really takes 3 or 4 times before you can see the different and hair will grow again if you stop using it.
but it is one off, save me lot of $$$But as Rnewton4 pointed out that it is quite dangerous if use incorrectly.
So i think people should buy it in shaver shop and let them teach you how to use it safely and this is also the reason why it's only avaliable in shave shop(i think). Can you use templates to create interesting hair patterns in interesting places?
Fidel Castro?
If you have enough chest hair.
I think the stories about scars and burning are people who have bought salon machines and used them at home without training /qualifications, this was made to be used at home and hopefully Phillips have made it reasonably foolproof. It has been around for a couple of years and I am not aware of any safety issues. All 4 edges have to be in contact with skin for it to 'fire' and I guess if you follow the instructions and don't do the things it warns against like using it on ginger hair or black skin, how hard can it be really? I am not sure how they teach you to use it at shavershop - is it hands-on training with a 'live' device?
UPDATE
After taking money from my card a week ago I got an apologetic email last night advising me that the courier has refused to deliver this because Australian Customs class this as a laser and will not allow it into the country!
So.. the search continues or else I will just wait for the next trip to the UK in 2014, if the price is still more than £300 it is eligible for the VAT refund on departure.
