Multiple FlyBuys Vouchers

Hi Guys,

If anyone has gone to the trouble to find out, I am sure it would have been an Ozbargainer…

Bonus FlyBuys points can be had in a multitude of ways:
- Coles credit card,
- mail vouchers,
- email offers,
- Shop'a'dockets
- Min spend on fruit/meat/freezer foods etc

My question is if anyone knows whether all of these things will work within a single transaction?

For example, I have a Coles Mastercard (2 pts/dollar), I also have a mail voucher for triple points, and I also received an email to 'activate' an offer to get a 'bonus 500 points over $220'. So on a $250 grocery shop, will I get:
Standard + Mail voucher: 3 point/dollar (750points)
Mastercard: 2 point/dollar (500points)
Email Offer: bonus 500 points
Total: 750+500+500=1750points

Or will it only one or the other of the vouchers?

I haven't seen anywhere in the T&C's that there is limit to the number of vouchers that can be used in one transaction. And nowhere does it say "Can not be used with any other offer". So could I even add a shop'a'docket into the mix as well?

The only way I can think to check is to be really vigilant with the points adding up on the account, but as they don't go in instantly (can take up to 4 weeks) I don't have the patience.
It's not like this is an issue, just curious… I always wonder how many extra points I can bundle. After all, 2000points = $10

Thanks!

I've stacked paper coupons(from mail), email offers and docket deals on the one transaction several times and all of the various types of offers have credited. I've even had things like a double points coupon and a triple points email offer stack together. This week I'll be using two email offers and a triple points coupon for my shopping trip. The trick is that each set of bonus points will take a different amount of time to be credited to your account so if you keep a separate transaction list to your flybuys account, make sure you write down the offers separately.

I don't know how long the credit card points will take to credit as I don't have this specific credit card. Keep in mind if you redeem your points via the credit card, this will be taken off the transaction amount as a discount rather than a payment method. Make sure your transaction total reaches the target for your email offer after all your discounts.

The most flybuys points I have gathered from a single transaction is 2560. It was a $60 transaction. I had a paper coupon for 2000 points for spending $50, 500 points from an email offer for spending $60 plus the base points. I also got 120 credit card points on a separate loyalty program.

I've had other transactions where I've handed in several paper coupons and one or two docket deals. The key is to watch the checkout operator carefully to make sure that all the barcodes are scanned and keep your receipt just in case there are problems.

    • Thanks for the reply. Wow 2560 points off $60, good job!

I have not been too strict with keeping all the vouchers I do get, but recent monetary changes means every point is worth something. I think I will be stacking as many as I can find in the future.

Look out for your shopper docket offers on the bottom of your receipt too. The other day I got one for 1000 points on a $100 spend. Now, where did I put that?……

I can confirm that stacking has worked for me aswell. I have used a paper coupon mailed out to me, stacked with a docket deal stacked with a triple point email, and all paid on a coles mastercard. The points for all these vouchers and coupons were honored, but it can be VERY tricky to track with flybuys , as it takes upto a whole month for it to appear, and when it does, it doesnt specify what the points are for. If you call them and ask them they will give you the breakdown. If used correctly Flybuys is a great program. Been with them since day 1, and have redeemed over $5000 of various rewards. The biggest earner for me apart from the Bonus offers is paying all my bills on the Coles Mastercard. Without this, points earned would be VERY slow.

  • So does that mean if you were to use, say, a 500 points when purchasing cereal over $5.50, and spent for arguments sake, $6, and also had a triple points voucher, that in effect you would receive over 1500 points for your $6 purchase? I'd just assumed you'd get your bonus points for the cereal (or whatever) and then the triple points would simply be applied to the purchase price?!

The individual bonus points don't triple. The transaction above would be a total of 518. 500 for the coupon, 6 base points and 12 bonus points from the triple points offer.

      • Thanks. That is the way I'd assumed it would work.

  • Thanks for the confirmation guys. I thought it was this way. I have been stuck in the 'Not to be used with any other offer' format with using coupons.
Now I just need to approach my wife carefully, "Honey, when you go shopping with the 2 children, can you make sure you get these 10 vouchers scanned! Thanks" :)

    • I've had children with me when I've tried to get all the vouchers scanned correctly. It's tricky. Most of the times I've done it correctly but occasionally the wrong card or the wrong coupon gets scanned. Good luck.

  • I have just started using "self checkout" as I didn't think that system would recognize my multiple coupons , but it does, so if you get stuck , try that way & then call the assistant over to help out if you are in need of help as they are super helpful - it's worth a go and no "red face" for handing over multiple coupons to a "check-out" chick :-)
