Basically a few washing machine models been blowing up recently. According to the news 100,000 being recalled.
Seeing this article made me check my washing machine.
Ah wow talk about being unlucky.
Anyhow they organize for an technician to come out and repair the fault. Which according to forums online suggest a plastic bag over the cable to reduce the chance of shorting.
Being paranoid about safety and an ozbarginer, I organized an replacement with a newer model despite having this machine for 1.5 years
Was wondering if anyone has done this as well ?
And is this entirely samsung's good will/service or is it because their afraid of the ACCC.
Very interested in the other people's opinion on this one.
I'd like to say a big thank you for pointing this out. SW80SPWIP/XSA was my machine, purchased from 2nd world.
Edit: After calling them, I pointed out the machine has turned off several times with no reason. She organized a replacement of a brand new machine!
Update 2: They are sending out model number WA80F5G4DJW as a replacement as they do not stock my model above. Bing lee are selling them for $799, I paid about $515 for mine and used it for two years so I am very happy! Bing Lee Reference
Thanks again.
