COTD. $1 Bonds for Everyone" Sale - Too Good to Be True?

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Catch of the Day…..ran a sale for many hours advertising this………$1 Bonds for Everyone" sale.

Made an order, as allways regularly buy from these guys. But just got an email saying this…..no header no logo….and a very poor excuse for making such a balls up……this sale was on for several hours, so this would not have simply been an error in listing…..not good enough…..poor form from such a great performer in the past. Super disappointed and simply stating that it was an error unfortunately won't substantiate the misleading element which was very obvious there…..bordering on bait and switch

"Dear Valued "Catcher",

Please note that we have had to cancel the order you placed on Sunday from
our "$1 Bonds for Everyone" sale.

Unfortunately, we included a listing error and sold you "Bonds" branded
goods well below our cost price, and cannot fulfil this order. Please note
if you bought additional goods with the Bonds, we are unable to fulfil
them as the shipping price paid is no longer applicable.

A full refund for your purchase, including shipping fees, will be processed
within the next 24 hours.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience, and in addition to your refund we
will also provide a $15 Store Credit to your Catch / Mumgo account, which
will automatically be applied to your next purchase with us. Please allow
up to 48 hours for this store credit to appear.

Kind Regards,

The Catch Team"

In my view, when you see ridiculously low prices, you're taking a risk. You accept that when you're getting things on sale whether it is a clearance or online that sometimes stores run out of stock, this doesn't mean they baited and switched you, it just means they have no more to sell.

They've offered you a refund + store credit, that's more than what they have to do, good on them.

If you want guaranteed stock, go to Target and pay the full price, bargain hunting is very much a game, sometimes you manage to score a bargain and sometimes you don't. There will always be people who miss out really.

  • Bordering on bait & switch? How exactly?

  • I don't understand why you're so butt hurt about this. You regularly buy from them and scored a $15 store credit for their error, sounds like you got a good deal to me.
