Mrs OzBargain just returned from the Double Bay Woolworths Supermarket and picked up 4kgs of potatoes for a mere dollar. She says there are lots there - at least 30 packets.
For those of you who know Double Bay Woolies - You'll find them to the left of the Caviar and to the right of Lobster .. or in the Fruit/Veg section.
All good so far. Mrs Ozbargain would never serve me a dud spud.

Well woollies in camp hill qld was selling loose spuds for $0.10 a kilo today… The check out person scanned the wrong price and didn't believe me when I told her. They ended getting someone to check and confirm.. Lots left and were good quality.
I must admonish you for putting staples on your AMEX however…
A potato bargain, no matter how attractive, should not be put on ones AMEX and incur evil interest charges.
Everything goes on the AMEX. Even the rent and then we pay it all off at the end of the month. We like to use all the banks money rather than our own. We set up with the bank that we auto pay off everything at the end of the month and as such have not paid a cent of interest in years.
I'm more devastated that she didn't spend four dollars more to save four cents at the petrol pump.
I saw them at Woolworths in Newcastle, NSW as well.
Double Bay, Double pay - As the saying goes.
Mostly very true except there are some great deals at Woolies… and we suspect it's this attitude that lets the rest of us in Double Bay get really great deals at Woolies. All the more happy to let that story propagate.

Chancellor Park Woolies had these for $2 Thursday but checked this morning and were all gone (no surprise there).
Might be that some stores got far too many and are just clearing the extras. Either way I still stocked up and think its time for some Potato Bake :)
Thornleigh Woolies had them for $1.60 on Thursday.
