Should I buy the TOSHIBA P50T-A016 15" Touch Screen Notebook?

Hi guys,

Been hunting for something haswell, full hd screen, etc

I am able to get this through a friend at JB Hifi for $860 - I don't know how, but that's what he is saying..

I would hazard a guess this is worth it, but is there anything I should know about these specs? They seem pretty top notch to me!

    It's a very good price for $860, given it's a Haswell i7 with a discrete GT745m GPU.

    Thanks guys. My knowledge of computer specs has dwindled since I was last in the market for a new laptop 3+ years back .

    The GT745m, will I be able to play modern games at decent settings? (FIFA, etc)

    I realise the price is cheap for what it is, I was hoping to get something for $750ish through this bloke but he came at me with this which seems to good to pass up

      Depends a lot on your idea of 'modern games' and 'decent settings'. It should be able to play all games out today, but most new games on medium settings and high end games on low setting. I don't know anything about FIFA games.

      FIFA's no problem — you can crank up on Ultra settings and still go above 100 FPS.

      The GT745M can play a lot of 2013 titles without an issue at medium settings.

    I would only play a few car games, sports games and the odd shooter so that's great.

    I've came across your post saying you can get the laptop for $850 in JB Hi-Fi. Is is possible to help me get it too please? :( And how was the laptop? Is it worth the money?
