    • $7.32 shipping to SA.

"Seemed cheap because it's Casio"? It is indeed, found the same model twice the price on eBay or $45 on ASOS. Not bad.

    • Seems to be $7.32 to $11.57 (NT) shipping. OP, please add "plus shipping" to title.

I had one like that in the 1970's. Cool man!

Casio only began making digital watches at the end of the 1970's, and this particular model is based off of the early G-Shocks which launched in 1983, so I sincerely doubt that.

        Does it matter?

        He did say "like that"

      • cool story bro.

I used to wear these as a kid in the 90's. Black ones though. And they were about as tough as a bread stick. Cost about 2 bucks from memory though.

  • might be worth having a look on ebay. casio watches are cheap as nuts in hong kong

      And fake as hell too.

I've ordered G-Shocks and Pathfinders via Ebay before but only from Australian or American retailers (usually they come within ten dollars or so of the "so-cheap-it's-obviously-a-fake" Chinese sellers). Wouldn't go anywhere near South-East Asia for a genuine Casio watch.

It's incredibly easy to manipulate ratings on Ebay with multiple accounts (which is what a lot of those Chinese power sellers do; they work in teams) and the other thing to keep in mind is, when you're dealing with sellers that have over 100,000 ratings, even a 95% satisfaction rate represents 5,000 unhappy campers, which is nothing to scoff at.

Quite often, what you notice with those "too-good-to-be-true" sellers from China is that they're either dealing in poorly refurbished goods or well-made fakes. They appear good as new when buyers first receive them, which prompts them to leave glowing feedback that they cannot later overturn once their "new" item breaks or is found to be a complete dud. Part of the problem is that you only get a period of 60 days to leave feedback, and more than half is gone by the the time the item actually arrives and the rest is usually not really enough to fully evaluate something.

Complaining to Ebay usually goes nowhere as the sellers simply create new sockpuppet accounts and it's business as usual. It's pretty hard to touch Chinese merchants given the intense legal barriers.

yeah buyer protection only extends for a limited time… after that period the seller can just de-register his account then make a new one, leaving you in the lurch.

      • FYI, Chinese/HK people and their relatives also live in other countries you know :)) Taking the goods into those countries and from there sell it with a different price is as easy as creating a new account on Ebay there
P/S: I'm not a racist, just telling the truth. From my experience.

  • Doesn't Catchoftheday usually sell Chinese products? Why Waranty come from catchoftheday, not Casio?
