I have a samsung np350v5c-s07 laptop which uses an amd radeon hd 7670m graphics chip.
My question is if l use the hdmi connector how do l find out the maximum resolution l can buy for an external monitor?
Thinking of getting a 24inch dell.
Cheers
What max resolution for external monitor?

I can only think of two reasons for the negative votes:
1: These users think that my answer is wrong, but are unwilling to explain why or provide a 'correct' answer.
2: These users feel that more explanation is required… yet don't feel that they want to do so, or even comment that this is the problem.
As Flyingmoo suggests below, you can't get a monitor at anything like this resolution at 24 Inch (24' (Feet) is perhaps another story). So there is no problem.
I think the Neg Force are out in full patrol today, negged everyone's comments.
If you are only thinking 24' then 1920x1200 is the maximum in that size, which won't have any issues with your laptop. Most 24' are 1920x1080 which will also work perfect.
I had a lot of issues getting over 1080 through HDMI. From my reading it seems that while HDMI is technically capable of delivering over this resolution a lot of cards won't output through HDMI and even monitors won't accept higher from HDMI. I was able to install a cracked driver and output at 1600 through HDMI but at a low refresh rate. That was on an nvidia card and dell monitor.
I've had no troubles on the laptops I've tried, but different laptops can vary a lot on this sort of thing.
i havent had any issue with 1920 x 1200 on hdmi
dell monitor and mainly ati video
TBH ive only used my laptop on my 55" 1080p tv….. but it still works well.
