  hmm cool not sure how much use it'll be as I don't know if any of the books are under $5.00 but also interesting that I didn't need to even make an audible account to get the $5 card. hope this didn't ruin my chance of signing up with an affiliate link for two free books though.

    Well, lots of longer [over an hour, if older] talks / interviews
    at the 92nd Street Y are US$ 1.99 (Some used to be -included- in
    Fora.tv's US$ 50 / year subscriptions, I think… but have since
    been "monetized" by their creators.)

    My issue is: After showing my coupon's $5.00 value, it asks for
    my Visa card details… BEFORE -trying- to use up most of the $5
    to pay for ONLY 2x US$ 1.99 talks from the above source…

    "Whilst the T&Cs say it's only available to customers in the US
    it worked fine on my existing Amazon account. There are quite
    a few titles you can pick up for free using your $5 coupon."

    And it says my coupon value MIGHT apply… giving me the UNCOM-
    FORTABLE feeling, that my would-be 2x purchases could be funded
    by my Visa card… How hard would it be to confirm that upFront?

    All the SILLY if's & maybe's of this could-be deal chased me away
    for good, as I don't have time to chase under US$ 4.00, if they
    were to debit my Visa card.

    So, NO SALE in this case… rather it gets a NEG from me.

    This is the DOWN side of online eCommerce for me: A powerful sys-
    tem that COULD (in a few extra milliseconds) check that my coupon
    applies to my 2x purchases… WON'T do that for me…

    Poor customer service loses 'em one customer, but they accept this
    as "collateral damage" & SAVE the cost of those UNUSED millisec's.

    for those looking at this and trying to figure it out.
    You "buy" the classsics for 0c as a kindle ebook then theres an offer to buy that ebook as an audible book for 99c each.

    Also on that post is a link to another Ozb post with an Audible win-win sale with books at $4.95
    You'll need to be a subscribed audible member to get those prices so if you are going to sign up you'll normally get 1 free book but if you use Twits affiliate link "www.audible.com/twit2" you'll get two book credits then the $4.95 book pricing should be available from what I've read. just cancel after you get your books or you'll be charged.

    Neat after all those Twit audible ad reads theres a lot of books I've been interested in.

  Am I missing something? It seems expensive to have to pay a monthly subscription fee and then on top of that then have to pay for the audiobooks as well?!

    You don't pay for the audiobooks on top.
    Your monthly subscription fee gives you a credit each month that is used to purchase the book.
    Your credits roll over each month, I currently have 4.
    There are a few audiobooks on the site that require 2 credits but these are rare.
    They often have sales ie buy 2(with your credits or with cash) and get 1 free.
    Or buy 4 books(with your credits or cash) and get a $10 credit.
