  • Are you guys resellers or do you control and manage directly your boxes?

Also, why PHP 5.3? It has officially been announced that it is entering its 'end of life' period and nothing but security fixes will be issued.

This is an important point for people who want to run a business site on Wordpress. I would argue it's even a deal breaker

    • Hi Ginmi,

Yes we have full root access to all our servers, they are colocated at Equinix SY3.

PHP 5.3 has only just gone into EOL, We're working on a transition into PHP 5.4 / 5.5 at this time. We're implementing Cloud Linux's PHP selector so you can select between versions (PHP 5.4 & 5.5).

I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker, a lot of hosts still operate PHP 5.2!

  • Discount off the first invoice…. meh!

A decent sized recurring discount would be more interesting.

  • I have been with Netvirtue for only a few months as a customer and I can honestly say they are the best hosting I have used for the past 10 years or more. I previously signed up for a 12 month account and after seeing this deal today I have just opened another account with them for 24 months the discount can be applied for 24 months so it costs $95.70 for two years re-seller hosting. I have just moved all my hosting accounts from VentraIP as their support is useless. I saved myself hundreds by changing to a reseller account and moving all my hosting services under a reseller account.
I have found Netvirtue support to be outstanding not only do they actually have a support phone number but their support people are well informed and very helpful.

Anyway that's my experience so I highly recommend them.

    • Agreed to MMM!
BTW, any offer to existing customers like us? :)

      • +1

We'll be doing a customer only deal very soon!

  • Agree that they have outstanding support, but recently one of their servers spat the dummy and they weren't able to provide any recent backups despite the fact that their website says they take backups daily and weekly.

I know I know, always back up your data. Lesson learnt!

    • +1

We've actually made a lot of changes since that event - You can now view all our current backups in nvArea and backup servers have been improved and bare-metal backups are also being taken to prevent further issues.

  • How long is the code good for?

    • +1

      Till this Friday 11:59pm (23/8/13)

  • OP - When will PHP 5.4+ be available?

    • +1

Within the next few weeks (likely sooner).

      • Great, I'll jump on board tomorrow before the code expires. Great response time. Cheers
