    Hey Ebayee,

That sounds awesome. I wish I had the space for a dedicated theatre (and the money!).

I don't have any experience but from what I've heard AVSForums is the authority on home theaters and all aspects of their design and build.

Here are links to two of my favorite build threads:

    http://www.avsforum.com/t/1117148/saga-of-the-old-vic

    http://www.avsforum.com/t/1385501/jautors-rock-creek-theater…

They're mid to high end builds, but the site covers all budgets.

From what I've learned from AVS, one very important point is recognizing the difference between sound isolation and sound treatment and incorporating both into your build.

    Good luck!

    What's your budget?
If it's less than $5,000 (assuming you already own all or most of your Speaker/Amp/TV/Projector/Screen/Seating requirements) I wouldn't bother visiting AVS Forums.

It's true that most of the build threads are mid to high end: http://www.avsforum.com/f/19/dedicated-theater-design-constr…

But there's still plenty of useful information:

      Common mistakes - http://www.avsforum.com/t/855958/what-id-do-differently-next…

      Acoustical Treatments - http://www.avsforum.com/t/255432/acoustical-treatments-maste…

Layout and design stuff - throughout the site (which is really important: ie seating positions, screen size relative to wall width, speaker placement, screen height, etc. None of which costs anything but is important to accommodate into your design to maximise results).

And inspiration for every other detail - http://www.avsforum.com/t/978755/the-show-me-thread-all-of-t…

    • I only need to buy a good projector and screen . I have most of home theater set icl 5.1 speakers incl subwoofer , amp …

      • Hey Ebayee, I forgot to add this link before http://www.soundproofingcompany.com/soundproofing101/

If you're not looking to do much room work and its all about what projector and screen to get, on top of AVS I'd check out What HiFi for their reviews.

      • You still haven't answered my question..
A "good projector" ranges in price from $1000-200,000 depending on your definition of "good"
Similarly a "good screen" can be some screen paint on a wall and a black frame all DIY, right up to a fully motorised kit costing $20,000.
A visit to AVS Forums will demonstrate that people genuinely spend this sort of money (not so much on the $200,000 projector) and surprisingly regularly!

  • Hi Ebayee,

I've been building home theater systems and installing them for over 25 years and the one thing that is common is that you can always spend more money.

What I strive for is to build a solution that is better than can normally found for the given $'s. It can be done and we do it regularly.

Our solutions can cost under $5k and can run right up to $200k and that's just for the projector, screen and sound system.

Most importantly, we can help you develop an upgrade plan that will give more "WOWS" for your $.
My company is Pacific Hi Fi www.pacifichifi.com.au

Our promise is to deliver better sound and to put the WOW factor back into your electronic entertainment experience. Right now we have a package that is not advertised where we offer a Full HD/3D projector, 103 inch screen, Marantz Surround Receiver & Cabasse Speaker pack for less than $5000! This system sounds and looks so much better than anything other in the price range.

    • That is nice , but I live in Vic
