Amazon - 40% off RRP of Selected Board Games

This seems to be for 1 day only. Note that 40% is taken off the RRP, but items sold on Amazon are generally 20% or more less than the RRP, so the saving is about 15% off normal Amazon prices.

My recommendations are Dominion Big Box, and Castles of Burgundy( the cheapest I have seen this game). Note that Amazon has increased shipping prices to AU lately from $2.49 to $3.99 per pound, but you can combine with other Amazon purchases that are shipped overseas. Combine this with the $5 coupon available this week.

  • no game of thrones?

  • Would Castles of Burgundy be something you could pick up and play quite easily or is there a steep learning curve and rule book with the expectation that you have played these sorts of games before?

  • good prices but after shipping you won't necessarily be saving too much, depending where you shop in Aus.

  • Some of those Axis and Allies games would be great.

  • Castles of Burgundy is of medium complexity, and takes about 90 minutes to play. It plays well with just 2, but you can expand it to 4 players. The rulebook is about 10 pages long A4, small compared to say Arkham Horror, Earth Reborn, Merchants & Marauders, or Mage Wars.

Before the increase in shipping costs this year, Amazon was much cheaper than purchasing locally. Now the savings are less. Book Depsoitory has some Ameritrash games at cheaper prices than locally, and OzgameShop has some of the more popular games, but you won't find niche titles like say "Grossdeutschland", " Colors and Command Ancients", or "Castles of Burgundy".

  • shipping is pretty steep for amazon standards

  • A good deal for those board game loving Mensa members who breezed the Menda test deal previously posted on Ozb.
Unfortunately I'm not one of them, though I do have some good excuses why I didn't score so well ;-p

  • +1

Is this done? The link 404's and I can't find anything on Amazon about it.
