Cruise Line Luggage in Sydney

We are taking a cruise which terminates in Sydney on 22 Dec. We get off the boat in the am and I want to go to the zoo. Id prefer to fly out that night. Is there any facility where we can leave our bags in that area? Thanks

  • How much luggage are you looking at?

Try this (I've never used this though, so call ahead to double check). On second thought it's also near Town Hall…

Otherwise some hostels will do it. I have read that WAke Up Sydney (but that's near central station) does it but that may have changed now. Just try calling up hostels or hotels in Circular Quay and plan ahead.

Alternatively if you're going to the zoo, they may do luggage storage themselves so it may be worth an ask. Some museums have that facility and yes I know the zoo isn't a museum, but that's what I'd try first.

I would also check where the cruise terminates - at the overseas passenger terminal (which is in circular quay) or barangaroo (which is a hike uphill to Wynyard station) or elsewhere…. Depending on where you are, you might choose different options.

  • Thanks. That travellers place is closed on Sundays. It is pretty expensive as well. I think we may just spend the night in the rocks and leave the next day.

It might be worth looking at this trip advisor forum page too http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowTopic-g255060-i122-k605049….

It is possible the Sydney Harbour YHA at the Rocks has luggage storage (though no vacancies for 22 December) http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Sydney-Harbour-…

As for the zoo, not cheap either, but more fun by ferry. You can buy a combined ferry and zoo entry ticket on the day from Circular Quay. Be prepared for crowds :-(. http://www.131500.com.au/tickets/explore/zoopass Also, the bird show is pretty impressive (well, it was worthwhile when I went several years ago!).

Hope you can figure something out and have lots of fun :-)

Thanks. I am a member of Perth zoo, as o entry is free for me.

There's one at the state library, not far from the quay.
Though not exactly convenient with heavy bags as its bang in the middle of two train stations.

  • Thanks. I will look at that. I think we mast just stays overnight, but it is great to get some options.

  • If you are travelling with a child buy a family funday ticket. It allows you to use trains, buses , ferries and the light rail for $2.50 per person for the whole day on a Sunday.

    • Thanks for that. That will really help.

  • I bet you wont be disappointed staying the nights in the rocks. Saturdays and Sundays, they have a market in the rocks which is a pretty good. My favourite pass time is to walk around the markets for a bit and settle down in LOWENBRAU with my 1 litre beer for a great vibe, awesome food and good music and watch the world go by.

  • It will be worth the nights stay if you can justify it. The zoo is nice but the markets on the rocks and being able to see the sights will help make up the cost of accommodation.
